The Week Ahead Morgantown High School Week of April 11, 2021 Welcome to the overall learning guide to Morgantown High School. A new Edition will be updated weekly to alert our students and families on what to expect for the upcoming week at MHS. MHS Student Learning Schedule MCS Distance Learning In-Person Learning Monday: 04/12/2021: ODD Monday: 04/12/2021: ODD MCS Distance attends ALL classes remotely In-Person: A – Z, 5-Day Learning Students Tuesday 04/13/2021: EVEN Remote Asynchronous Learning Day No In-person classes or timed meetings. Lessons will be uploaded to Schoology. The only students in the building will be those taking exams (SAT School Day, PSAT 9, Nocti, etc) Wednesday 04/14/2021: ODD Wednesday 04/14/2021: ODD MCS Distance attends ALL classes remotely In-Person: A – Z, 5-Day Learning Students Thursday 04/15/2021: EVEN Thursday 04/15/2021: EVEN MCS Distance attends ALL classes remotely In-Person: A – Z, 5-Day Learning Students Friday 04/16/2021: ODD Friday 04/16/2021: ODD MCS Distance attends ALL classes remotely In-Person: A – Z, 5-Day Learning Students Expectations for Students In-Person and on MHS campus • All students and families must use Schoology to check and confirm progress in classes. If any parent wishes to contact a faculty member, you may either use Schoology or find their email at the following link: https://mohigans.mono.k12.wv.us/2/staff • All students must have a mask on at all times unless in a designated eating area (cafeteria or gym) during breakfast or lunch • Upon entering the building all students report directly to their homeroom classes before eating breakfast. • Students must transition directly to their next class and do not loiter in the hallways • All students must continue to complete the MCS daily screening tool. See page 2 for information. Monday 04/12, Thursday 04/15, and Friday 04/16 Guidance • 5 Day In-Person instruction begins for MHS this week. This is only for students and families who selected this learning pathway. • MCS Distance will continue to attend classes • All learning options (In-Person or MCS Distance) will continue to follow the schedule to the right. • Students who eat breakfast will report to their homeroom classes first and then go to the cafeteria to eat. • All students must be in the building no later than 7:15. Tuesday, April 13th Guidance • This is a remote learning day for all students unless they are scheduled to take the SAT School Day, PSAT 9, or Nocti exams on campus. • Students will not be required to login to classes at a set time. Lessons and activities will be uploaded by our faculty. • Students should also take this day to finish off their schedules if needed using the following website to guide them: https://sites.google.com/boe.mono.k12.wv.us/morgantownhighscheduling/home • 9th and 10th grade advisors will be available to consult with scheduling questions via meetings. Students may email/Schoology message their Homeroom Advisor for additional information. Wednesday April 14th Guidance • MHS will be running a modified bell schedule. • There will be an extended 1 hour advisory for all students to begin the scheduling process. • All information on the scheduling process can be found at the end of this document. • All Learning Pathways must attend this extended homeroom. In-Person learners will attend in-person while MCS Distance and WVDE will attend remotely. The Following Information is for All Learning Options Food Procedures If you require a lunch and are in remote learning, please use the following link. The link must be filled out every day by 10 am. You can request lunch at the MCS school that is closest to your location. Click here. Lunch pick up times are from 12 – 12:30 pm at MHS. Please use the following link for our weekly food offerings: https://mohigans.mono.k12.wv.us/2/Content/foodmenus Social-Emotional Lessons Continue Each Wednesday, for the remainder of the school year, Morgantown High School will be working on creating and delivering content to help students continue to manage their academics and their overall well-being. Our weekly lessons/activities can be found at: https://mohigans.mono.k12.wv.us/2/Content/mhsweeklysel Student Daily Screening Tool All students must complete the MCS Student Daily Wellness Check every school day no matter if MHS is remote or in person instruction. Use the following link to check in every day! We must have 100% participation in the daily screener for the safety of our students and staff. Week of April 5th Preview Monongalia County Schools and Morgantown High School will continue 5 Day In-Person Instruction. Listed below is a preview of that schedule for the week of April 5, 2021. All MCS Distance students will continue to live stream their classes from their devices. Monday April 19: Even Class Schedule Tuesday April 20: Odd Class Schedule Wednesday April 21: Even Class Schedule Thursday April 22: Odd Class Schedule Friday April 23: Even Class Schedule SAT School Day for current Juniors The SAT School Day (a free version of the SAT with Essay) will be given at Morgantown High School on Tuesday, April 13, 2021. All Junior students must take the exam on that date no matter their current learning option (In-Person, MCS Distance, or Virtual). Information has been emailed to both the BOE and K12 email accounts for all Junior students. Additional information can be found at: https://sites.google.com/boe.mono.k12.wv.us/spring2021satschooldayandpast9/home April 13, 2021 Information Tuesday, April 13th will be an EVEN-Asynchronous day of instruction for Morgantown High School. The only students who will be on campus that day will be students taking one of four exams that are being offered. MCS Transportation will run as normal for those students coming to campus. All other learners will be logging into to Schoology to complete work on their own schedule. There will be no live instruction on April 13, 2021. Student Scheduling Information Morgantown High School has begun the scheduling process for the 2021-22 school year. All students have received an email to their K12 and BOE email accounts outlining the procedures that will happen this school year. Here are the highlights and deadlines for everyone: Week of March 29th: Scheduling Presentations April 5th and 6th: Graduation Requirement Presentation during SEL time April 7th: Extended Homeroom Advisory for students to complete the PEP and Course Request Form. April 12th: PEP and Course Request Form must be turned in to Homeroom Advisor April 13th and 14th: Students will schedule with their Advisor by virtual meetings or in-person. April 14th will be an extended homeroom advisory.
