Concert Information… *If you need to leave or return to the auditorium for any reason, please do so between musical selections. As a courtesy to the performers, be sure to turn off all cell phones, pagers, and other electronic devices.

*We ask that no flash pictures or recordings (video and audio) be taken during the concert, as it is distracting for both the musicians and the audience. Students will be given the opportunity to purchase CDs of tonight’s performance (the order blank is featured on the back page of the program).

Robbinsdale Area Schools has been selected as one of the “Best 100 Communities for Music Education” in the eighth annual survey of U.S. school music programs by the American Music Conference (AMC). The selection process included considerations of such programmatic elements as funding, enrollment, student to teacher ratios, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, support for the music program and private music lesson participation. Congratulations to...  The Bel Canto and Concert Choirs competed in the Region 6AA State Large Group Contest (hosted by RCHS on March 11th). Both choirs received superior ratings, which is the highest honor choirs can receive!  On April 18th, 40 participants performed in the Region 6AA State Solo & Ensemble Contest. Twenty‐five soloists earned a superior rating and eight soloists received an excellent rating. Four vocal duets earned superior ratings, while two vocal trios earned excellent ratings. Chamber Singers and Bel Canto Singers earned superior ratings as well.

Lucas Ray (12) was one of two RCHS recipients of the MSHSL AAA Award (for excellence in

Academics, Arts, and Athletics). At RCHS, Lucas participates in cross country, swimming, lacrosse,

Marching Band, Quiz Bowl, NHS, Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Strings, NHS, Concert Choir and

Chamber Singers, all while maintaining a 3.0 GPA or above!

Amanda Halek (11) will be a member of Andrew Swartchick (11) will be a member the 2013‐2014 MMEA All‐State Mixed of the 2013‐2014 MMEA All‐State Men’s Choir. She will participate in a week Choir. The Bel Canto Choir and Chamber Strings (along with Armstrong’s Cantori Choir and Chamber Strings) performed at the MN Music Educator’s Association Mid‐Winter Clinic on February 15th. These Robbinsdale ensembles were chosen through a competitive, state‐wide audition to appear on this year’s Convention Program.

The Concert Choir was invited to participate in the 2013 Gustavus Oratorio Festival on April 16th at Gustavus Adolphus College. They were one of three MN high schools selected to perform as a solo choir as well as participate in the Festival Massed Choir. Upcoming Cooper Music Events & Performances…
