TWO MOCK TRIAL TEAMS ADVANCED TO CLASS OF 2016 COLLEGE STATE COMPETITION SIGNING DAY Lake Ridge Academy sent two teams to the state competition The Lake Ridge Academy Class of 2016 graduated last spring, the only school in Northeast Ohio to do so. The four student-athletes who will be continuing their teams won one best attorney award and three best witness athletic careers in college. Brianna Kirk is playing awards. Only four schools had multiple teams in the State basketball at Hiram College; Sam Waldock is competition: Indian Hills - 4 teams, Lake Ridge Academy - 2 playing basketball at Heidelberg University; Megan teams, Marysville - 2 teams, and Pickerington - 2 teams. NOVEMBER 17, 2016 Middle School Winter Concert NOVEMBER 19, 2016 Auction Gala, Reunion Week Kick-Off and Hall of Fame Ceremony NOVEMBER 22, 2016 Reunion Week: CULTURE FEST Alumni-Faculty Lunch The Humanitarian Aid Society once again hosted its annual Culture Fest. The April NOVEMBER 25, 2016 event brought students and families of all grades together to enjoy cultural music, Reunion Week: Thanksgiving Games dance, and food representing various countries from around the world. The Saturday Alumni Vs. Varsity Basketball Game afternoon event raised money for the Malala Fund. and Alumni Gathering in new Kemper Science and Engineering Building DECEMBER 7, 2016 Upper School Winter Concert DECEMBER 16, 2016 All School Holiday Service Project JANUARY 12, 2017 Networking Event FINE ARTS FESTIVAL JANUARY 19 – 20, 2017 Middle School Science Fair April ended with the annual Fine Arts Festival, a day-long celebration of art filled with workshops and performances for all ages to enjoy. Grades K through 8 rotated through JANUARY 22, 2017 various workshops, as they practiced new skills in theater, visual and digital arts, and K-12 Winter Family Open House music. Our art show included pieces of work from students of all grades. The day concluded with an evening of performances by the School of Fine Arts (SOFA) JANUARY 25, 2017 sophomores and the Middle and Upper School jazz ensembles. Art teacher Tim Lower School Winter Concert Callaghan with SOFA students, Sophie Spellman ‘17 and Joey Tagliaroni ‘17, led K-8 students to complete a plein air painting that was permanently installed in Kemper MARCH 2-4, 2017 Science & Engineering. Upper School Musical, Annie MARCH 8, 2017 GIRLS’ BASKETBALL TEAM REACHES Barnes and Noble-Crocker Park FIRST REGIONAL TITLE GAME Book Fair and Student Performances In March, the girls’ basketball team reached the MARCH 10, 2017 elite eight for the first time in school history, Upper School Career Day competing in the Division IV regional final game against Cornerstone Christian Academy. It was MARCH 15, 2017 a hard-fought game with a final score of 44-42 Upper School Choral Concert in overtime. The team had a great season with a 19-8 record, and Coach Lisa Medvetz was named Lorain County Coach of the Year. 5 Congratulations to the Class of 2016 These 51 seniors were awarded over $4.25 million in scholarships during their college searches.
