WHAT IS EXPLORING? Exploring is a unique career exploration program for young men and women ages 10-20. The program provides students with an opportunity to learn about a wide variety of career fields and network with professionals already working in those fields.

Exploring is based on a unique and dynamic relationship between youth and the organization in their communities. Local organizations initiate an Explorer program by matching their staff and program resources to the interests of young people.

ARTS & HUMANITIES CAREER EXPLORING Arts & Humanities Career Exploring is a hands-on program open to young men and women from the 6th grade to 20 years old that exposes participants to many career opportunities in art, music, drama and other humanities areas.

Thank You! In celebration of its 25th anniversary, the Hancock County Community Foundation (HCCF) invited organizations to apply for a $25,000 grant for a program, project or capital improvement project that will have a positive impact on the Hancock County community. All nonprofit organizations serving Hancock County were invited to apply in March, including but not limited to organizations providing human services, animal care, quality of life, and arts and cultural enhancement. On December 2, 2017, HCCF awarded three organizations Big Impact grants of $25,000 each, including the Exploring Program for Crossroads of America Council, Boy Scouts of America.

Thanks to Hancock County Community Foundation (HCCF), we will be starting 5 or more new Exploring Posts to broaden the career interest opportunities in Hancock County. Youth will be able to learn what it is like to work in healthcare, culinary, general careers, veterinary, psychology, photography and more to come.

You will get to experience firsthand what it is like to be on the cutting edge of engineering and technology discoveries and so much more!

BSA LIFESTRUCTURES – POST #898 (ARCHITECTURE) One of the foremost architectural firms in Indiana, BSA Open House: LifeStructures dedicates itself to bringing facilities to life, Wednesday, September 12 creating facilities that support and enhance the practices 6:00pm - 8:00pm of healing, learning and discovery as well as the people Food will be provided involved in these fields. Typically, 6:00pm one meeting per month there is an activity and the other is a tour. Past activities have included mousetrap car Location: contests, spaghetti bridge building, an activity related Lilly Technology Center, Building 301 to pharmaceutical development, a circuit-building lab, 1200 West Morris Street, Indianapolis and “CSI Indianapolis” where students have to use math, physics, and logic principles to solve a crime. This program combines some classroom training with hands-on lessons.

CENTRAL 9 CAREER CENTER – POST #416 (FIRE/EMS) The CERT Fire/Rescue program at Central Nine Career Contact Dewayne Tiemeyer for information on Center provides an opportunity for juniors and seniors times of meetings. enrolled at Central Nine from area schools to train like firefighters. This program combines some classroom training with hands-on lessons.
