5 - PhP28.050 Million (332.5 hectares rice fields, vegetables and fruit bearing trees; 1 carabao and 1 horse missing; 100 meters road totally eroded; 100 meters provincial road damaged; and 106 houses damaged (100 totally and 6 partially) in 4 affected municipalities) 5 Cotabato Province - PhP507.4 Million (2,486 hectares of farmlands, provincial and barangays roads, dikes and Gribona Bridge linking Libungan- ) 5 Sarangani Province – undetermined (Thirty four (34) houses were damaged: (3 totally and 31 partially) and approaches of Bridges in Gasi, Tambili and Lagundi were also damaged) 5 Maguindanao - undetermined (40 houses were destroyed by flood in Barangay Duruganan, Sultan Mastura)

III. EMERGENCY RESPONSE

A. National Action 5 The NDCC-OPCEN facilitated the release of 1,500 sacks of rice in Region XII: 200 sacks for 1st District, Cotabato Province; 500 sacks for PDCC Maguindanao; 50 sacks for PDCC Sarangani; 200 sacks for CDCC ; 350 sacks PDCC North Cotabato; and 200 sacks for PDCC South Cotabato 5 The AFP Command Center (AFPCC) has issued a directive to EASTMINCOM to alert all its Disaster Response and Rescue Units (DRRUs) for any emergency response and directed 5 DSWD provided PhP4,117,252.00 worth of used clothing, family food packs, box of sardines, noodles and sacks of rice to the affected LGUs and prepositioned sufficient stand-by funds, family food packs and stockpile of relief commodities comprising of food and non-food items to its field Offices (FOs) with reported affected LGUs ready for

3 augmentation/assistance whenever necessary; and processed additional stand by funds worth PhP1,500,000.00 for Region XII

B. Regional Level Actions 5 OCD XII, in coordination with CDCC Cotabato City and MDCC Sultan Kudarat coordinated with various response groups and local government agencies 5 OCD XII RD met the PTF-MRBRD, AFP/PNP and other local emergency responders to assess all evacuation and SAR efforts in Cotabato City and Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao 5 DOH-XII HEMs and response team of Cotabato City conducted initial assessment and put up medical health stations in all identified evacuation centers 5 DPWH XII provided equipment, 1 shuttle bus and water dredger mobilized to Rio Grande River 5 DSWD-ARMM initiated a community kitchen by providing ready to eat food like free flowing coffee and bread

C. Provincial Level

Maguindanao 5 Local PNP and 603 Brigade elements are easing traffic flow in the flooded portion of national highway in Brgy Salimbao, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao 5 PDCC Maguindanao thru DSWD Maguindanao has allocated PhP50,000 worth of relief goods 5 A makeshift Disaster Operations Center (DOC) had been established along the national highway in Barangay Salimbao Sultan Kudarat wherein an MDCC emergency meeting was held on 26 July 2009 to coordinate all emergency response efforts 5 Relief items and medical supplies have been prepositioned at said DOC by the DSWD-ARMM, DSWD-Maguindanao, DOH-ARMM, Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO)-Maguindanao, PDCC Maguindanao and MDCC Sultan Kudarat 5 A makeshift kitchen had also been established at Barangay Salimbao, Sultan Kudarat by the local DSWD to provide food for affected families who opted to stay in their homes. 5 Conduct of SAR and evacuation operations were effected through the concerted efforts of AFP elements (603rd Brigade and 504th Eng Batallion) in close coordination with MDCCs concerned and PNP

Cotabato Province 5 PDCC North Cotabato conducted an initial assessment of damage in six (6) municipalities affected 5 PNP, AFP and other local emergency responders to include Cotabato Rescue Group and KARANCHO were placed on standby for possible evacuation 5 LDCCs coordinated with CDCC Cotabato and officials of the Cotabato City Pilot Central School on the use of the school as evacuation center should there be an evacuation in Sultan Kudarat. 5 CDCC Cotabato city is presently checking a crack at the approach of Bridge in Sultan Kudarat to determine if it is still passable. An alternate bridge is available but the road leading to it has not yet been completed 5 PDCC North Cotabato initiated the clearing operations and repair works of clogged and damaged portion of national highway. 5 CDCC Cotabato City provided 3 kilos rice, 3 tins sardines and 3 pcs noodles / family

4 5 DOH-XI HEMS and response team of Cotabato City conducted initial assessment and extricated affected residents

South Cotabato 5 PDCC augmented heavy equipment for the re channeling of canal thru food for work program 5 PDCC extended food and non food assistance thru food for work program 5 MDCC conducted orientation on disaster preparedness to the families affected by flooding

Sarangani 5 PDCC Sarangani provided 130 sacks of rice and 10 cartons of noodles to the affected families of Kiamba. Barangays affected and MDCC Kiamba are utilizing their local Calamity Fund for food and fuel but still needs augmentation from the PDCC for food and heavy equipment like backhoe and bulldozers 5 MDCC Malapatan extended 100 food packs rice, 100 packs used clothing, 10 pieces sleeping mats, 10 pieces blankets, kitchen utensils and meals to the affected families. Affected families evacuated to Malapatan Central School, Municipal Gym and Community Hall 5 MDCC Maasim provided 4 kilos rice, 2 tins corned beef and 2 pieces noodles / family and also provided 4 kilos rice, 2 pieces noodles and 2 tins sardines / family

Sultan Kudarat Province 5 PDCC Sultan Kudarat is requesting 1,000 bags of rice augmentation assistance to sustain its relief operations in six (6) affected municipalities considering that the local Calamity funds of the province have already been exhausted due to continuous relief operations
