62 KODAKEKTALITE Slide Projectors Operation

Use this receptaclefor:

. a low-voltage power supply "return-to-zero" . automatic devices . a dark switch The receptacleaccepts t2-pin plug, DIN 41622. (See Chapter 7 for contact identification descriptions.) Usinga DissolveGontrol Use a dissolve control to softly fade into slide projection with one or more projectors. This featurefades down the light beam in one projector while changing the image and fading up the light beam in the other projector. This eliminates a dark-screeninterval.

When using a two-projector dissolve control, you need to divide your slides into two trays (odd- and even-numberedslides).

The dissolve control has two connectorsthat plug into the remote- control receptaclesin the rear of two projectors. Refer to your dissolve- control operating manual for additional instructions and features.

See your dealer in Kodak products or a Kodak representativein your country for more information on Kodak dissolve controls.

SelectingSlide Projection When buying a lens, consider featuressuch as (measured in millimetres), (designated as an f/stop), and the lens design (curved or flat).

When selecting a lens, remember that the shorter the focal length, the brighter the projected image. Also, curved-field lenses,in combination with cardboardopen-face mounts from an automatedmounting process, provide superior projection quality. A flat-field lens is the best choice for glass-mountedslides. LensFocal Length/Proiector Distance See the charts on page 2I5 to determine the lens focal length and projectiondistance. EditingYour Slides To add or remove the slides in the tray, you must first remove the transparentcover (or lock ring). Tum the cover (or lock ring) counterclockwise and lift off. Operation

l Maintenance

l i ; Gare ProjectorCare l I Your projector should be servicedperiodically to prolong life. Dirt and dust can have adverseeffects on the lubricants used in the projector and l may causemalfunctions. We recommend routine maintenanceevery 1500 hours of operation or three years.

To ensure a long life and trouble-free operation for your projector:

. Allow the air to flow freely around the projector . Do not recirculate warm air. ' . Keep the projector dust free. . If your projector is chilled, bring it to room temperaturebefore operating. l L_ LampTips Follow these tips to increaselamp life:

I . Unplug the projector and allow it to cool before changing the lamp. . The NO LIGHT position will cool a blown lamp much faster. I . Allow for unrestricted flow of air to the exhaust vent. . Using voltages above the nominal switch setting greatly reduces lamp life. . Gently wipe off any fingerprints with a soft cloth moistened with rubbing alcohol. . Avoid jarring the projector when the lamp is warm and in use.
