Chatham, Kent ME5 7QA (Accepted 22 July 1991) SUMMARY An outbreak of cryptosporidiosis occurred in the Isle of Thanet during December 1990 and January 1991. A total of 47 cases ranging in age from 2 months to 85 years were identified in residents from the Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate areas, with dates of onset of illness from 3 December to 14 January. A case-control study demonstrated a strong statistical association between illness and the consumption of unboiled tap water from a particular source, with evidence of a dose-response relationship. Although no cryptosporidial oocysts were identified in samples of untreated or treated water taken during the investigation, the results were consistent with the view that the source of infection was treated river water which was used to supplement borehole water. -

HACKINGTON PARISH COUNCIL MINUTES OF HACKINGTON PARISH ASSEMBLY HELD AT TYLER HILL MEMORIAL HALL AT 7.00pm ON THURSDAY 14th March 2019 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Present: Cllr. R Evison (Chairman); Cllr. B. Fitter-Harding; Cllr. A. Cover; Cllr. T. Hulks; Cllr. N. Cronin and D Horswell (Clerk). Also present: Ward Cllr. G. Metcalfe; County Cllr. Robert Thomas and twenty two residents. Apologies for Absence: Ward Cllr. Amy Baker. The Chairman opened the meeting by welcoming everyone to the Parish Assembly. An update was given by Paul Leary (KCC Highways Officer) on the traffic survey which had been carried out by KCC on Canterbury Hill. This had been conducted on 27th November 2018 and had recorded data on the stretch of the road from Calais Hill to Giles Lane. The average speed of the traffic had been found to be well within the 40mph speed limit, however, Members of the Parish Council pointed out that the rush hour traffic obviously skews the average speed. Residents had the opportunity, through the Chairman, to ask questions and voice their concerns to Paul. Suitable measures which would be allowable for traffic calming were discussed and KCC were asked for recommendations that could be put before the Parish Council for discussion. The problem of the narrowness of the footpath on Canterbury Hill and a suggestion of the hedges and vegetation being needed to be cut back and removed to allow for extra width for the safety of pedestrians was expressed. Paul is to take all the issues and suggestions by the Parish Council and residents back to KCC for implementation. -

We strongly believe in the merits of promoting None Isle of Wight Catchment sustainable and resilient water supplies at source Wildlife Trust Management and fully intend to continue to promote and deliver catchment management to improve the quality and reliability of the water sources we rely upon to fulfil our customer’s demand for water. Please refer to our WINEP and Business plan for more information about this. We recognise our role in addressing impacts on raw water quality. As this is a proactive programme, it sits within our future business plan commitments and WINEP, the only elements that relate to an impact in current DO are reflected in the WRMP. Kent Wildlife S12.40 Overview - We commend the efforts of South East Water to date We welcome your commendation of our ongoing None Trust and Catchment having engaged very positively with Catchment Sensitive activities to engage other land and water users within Sussex Wildlife Management Farming. We would however continue to advocate the catchments we operate in. We strongly believe Trust for their playing a greater stewardship role in the in the merits of promoting sustainable and resilient catchments that they and their customers depend on, water supplies at source and fully intend to continue working in partnership with others to address problems to promote and deliver catchment management at their source, rather than end of pipe. -

Barnsole is not identified as a settlement and therefore falls within the ‘hamlet’ settlement type, which are described as 2not suitable for further development unless it functionally requires a rural location”. CP3 – Of the 14,000 houses identified by the plan, 1,200 (around 6%) is identified for the rural area (i.e. areas other than Dover, Deal, Sandwich and Aylesham). CP4 - Developments of 10 or more dwellings should identify the purpose of the development in terms of creating, reinforcing or restoring the local housing market in which they are located and development an appropriate mix of housing mix and design. Density will be determined through the design process, but should wherever possible exceed 40dph and will seldom be justified ta less than 30dph. CP6 – Development which generates a demand for infrastructure will only be permitted if the necessary infrastructure to support it is either in place, or there is a reliable mechanism to ensure that it will be provided at the time it is needed. DM1 – Development will not be permitted outside of the settlement confines, unless it is specifically justified by other development plan policies, or it functionally requires such a location, or it is ancillary to existing development or uses. -
