Vikki Montgomery Before coming to New Jersey, he was with the Florida Conference. • NAD Presidential Assistant Dies Teacher's Convention Pastor Bjarne "Bj" Christensen, administrative assistant to the president of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in North America, died September 5 NAD Teacher's 3, at his Maryland home following a six-year battle with melanoma. Convention Diary Kermit Netteburg, assistant to the president for communication, says Christensen, 51, will be remembered for "his deep love of Christ and the Jennifer Payne church. He also will be remembered for his wise counsel and effective church leadership, as well as for mentoring hundreds of church leaders and members." Born in Denmark, Christensen came to the United States Congregation Profile when he was nine years old. He graduated with a bachelor's degree from La Sierra University in Riverside, California, and a master's from Growing the Filipino Way Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan. Columbia Union • New RHPA President Elected 9 Robert "Bob" Smith, former publishing director of the Seventh-day Seminary Courses Adventist Church in North America, was voted as president of the Offered Locally Review & Herald Publishing Association in Hagerstown, Maryland. Smith replaces Ted N. C. Wilson, who was elected to serve as a Richard Sanchez general vice president at the World Headquarters of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Silver Spring, Maryland, at the Church's quin- 10-11 Columbia Union College Gateway quennial business session in July. BMA Communique • Allen Appointed to Women's Ministries Post 13-16 Mary Maxson, NAD Women's Ministries director, has announced that, after conferring with local conference women's ministries direc- 17-20 Mission Ohio tors, she has appointed Donnis Allen as the field representative for NAD Women's Ministries in the eight-state region comprising the 21-24 Pennsylvania Pen Columbia Union. Allen says her mission in this post will be "to encourage, inspire and support the women of the Columbia Union 25-27 Resource Guide Conference."Allen, who was the first Women's Ministries director appointed in the Allegheny West Conference, will continue in those responsibilities.
