The squads earned the distinction as a result of being the highest‐placing teams with at least a 3.00‐cumulative GPA at the most recent NCAA indoor and outdoor championship, respectively. In addition, the USTFCCCA announced 164 teams as All‐Academic teams for the track & field seasons. Indoor Track & Field Scholar Team of the Year – Texas Texas finished as the nation’s runner‐up at the NCAA Indoor Championships back in March. The Longhorns scored 38 led by performances by Mia Behm in the 5000 meters, Shanay Briscoe in the high jump, and Chantel Malone in both the long and triple jump. Behm, Briscoe, and Malone are among 12 from Texas who earned individual All‐Academic honors last week. Texas has a cumulative team GPA of 3.28 through the 2011 spring semester.
