I waited months for the sheet music book of Lady Gagas second album, The Fame Monster. It was backordered, and then it appeared to go out of print as it became completely unavailable on Amazon. Amazon even asked if I wanted to cancel the order after I had been waiting nearly the whole summer, noting that they were still trying to get it but were having a bit of a hard time. Give up on GaGa? Never!The wait was absolutely worth it. The Fame Monster as a CD is transcendental; Lady GaGa mixes different music genres -- house, dance, 70s classic rock, Latin, and more -- creating fresh genres of music, with a catchy, driving beat. Fast, pop/rock songs usually dont translate well to piano sheet music, but this one is amazing! Its not dumbed down but is still relatively easy to play for someone of moderate piano skill.You get all eight songs here from the album: Bad Romance, Alejandro, Monster, Speechless, Dance in the Dark, So Happy I Could Die, and Teeth. The book stays true to the original keys for the most part, with the exception of Speechless (presented in A minor, although it is incredibly close to the original key that the half-step transposition is barely noticeable) and Teeth (were you really itching to play this tribal-beat, suggestive song on the piano anyway?). The Latinesque Alejandro sounds surprisingly good here and includes the spoken word intro melody. The standout in the book is Telephone (presented in the original A-flat major with four flats) which sounds amazingly terrific on both a grand piano and digital keyboard.If you are interested in playing even just ONE of the songs in this book, I highly recommend you buy this entire book rather than spend $5 for one song. You will be delighted with the entire sheet music collection here.     Model-based clustering for random hypergraphs Tin-Lok James Ng1, Thomas Brendan Murphy1 School of Mathematics and Statistics, University College Dublin Abstract A probabilistic model for random hypergraphs is introduced to represent unary, binary and higher order interactions among objects in real-world problems. This model is an extension of the Latent Class Analysis model, which captures clustering structures among objects. An EM (expectation max- imization) algorithm with MM (minorization maximization) steps is developed to perform parameter estimation while a cross validated likelihood approach is employed to perform model selection. The developed model is applied to three real-world data sets where interesting results are obtained. Keywords: Hypergraph, Latent Class Analysis, Minorization Maximization 1. Introduction A large number of random graph models have been proposed [36, 20, 19, 27] to describe complex inter- actions among objects of interest. Pairwise relationships among objects can be naturally represented as a graph, in which the objects are represented by the vertices, and two vertices are joined by an edge if certain relationship exists between them. While graphs are capable of representing pairwise interaction between objects, they are inadequate to represent higher order and unary interactions that are typically observed in many real-world problems. To this, one may reply thus: “She is an American recording artist born in New York by the name of Stefani Germanotta who has risen to stardom with her string of hit singles since the release of her debut album The Fame in 2008.” Yet this answer is disappointing, even reductive, for the reason that it fails to adequately capture the essence of the woman who has made it her principal priority to defy easy definition. So, once again, who is Lady Gaga? Who is the woman who unabashedly dons a meat dress at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards? Who is the woman for whom her fans are not her fans but – as she affectionately calls them – her “monsters,” for whom her body is a canvas to be by turns bared and dressed for the purpose of evoking, and thereby experimenting with, her sexuality? And, by extension, is she, the “Lady” who calls herself “Gaga,” a feminist? It seems so; in her works, she has consistently displayed interest in the ways feminine sexuality is constructed and presented. To elaborate, Lady Gaga can be set apart from other celebrities in the sense that her aim is to go beyond flaunting her womanly appeal; she questions the basis of the allure she commands. In other words, for Lady Gaga, being considered “sexy” matters less than considering the ranges of what it means to be so. Thus, her performances are inevitably wrought with tension, and as a result, she offers an interrogation of conventionally narrow notions of femininity.
