Western RL is grateful for the unique opportunity to host Federation of Italia Rugby League Australia and help promote international pathways through the greatest game of all. Special thanks to the volunteers, supporters and parents from junior and senior clubs and competitions who passionately drive the game, enabling players to represent this proud region. I would like to personally acknowledge Reno Santaguida, Rick Baiteri and their F.I.R.L.A committee members including Lithgow’s own Giuseppe “Joe” Inzitari for the tireless efforts behind the scenes in bringing the games to Western territory. It’s also terrific to see so many players for various clubs in metro and regional Leagues represented today, play hard but fair and saviour the experience. We will follow the Azzuri with extra interest in the 2017 Rugby League World Cup qualifiers staged next week in Europe. We’d love to see you back out this way next year for a warm up game to the World Cup.
