ANNUAL EEO PUBLIC FILE REPORT

WMGI-FM, WBOW-FM, WIBQ-AM, WTHI-FM, WWVR-FM, WIBU-AM Radio

The purpose of this EEO Public File Report (“Report”) is to comply with Section 73.2080(c)(6) of the FCC’s 2002 EEO Rule. This Report has been prepared on behalf of Midwest Communications Inc.’s Terre Haute, Employment Unit (“SEU”). This SEU is comprised of the following stations: WMGI-FM, WBOW- FM, WIBQ-AM, WTHI-FM Radio licensed to Terre Haute, Indiana, WWVR-FM, WIBU-AM Radio licensed to Paris, IL. This report has been placed in the public inspection files of these stations and posted on their websites, if they have websites, prior to April 1, 2021.

The information contained in this Report covers the period April 1, 2020 up to and including March 31, 2021, (the “Applicable Period”).

The FCC’s 2002 EEO Rule requires that this Report contain the following information:

1. A list of all full-time vacancies filled by the Station(s) comprising the SEU during the Applicable Period.

2. For each such vacancy, the recruitment source(s) utilized to fill the vacancy (including, if applicable, organizations entitled to notification pursuant to Section 73.2080(c)(1)(ii) of the EEO rule), identified by name, address, contact person and telephone number.

3. The recruitment source that referred the hire for each full-time vacancy during the Applicable Period.

4. Data reflecting the total number of persons interviewed for full-time vacancies during the Applicable Period and the total number of interviewees referred by each recruitment source utilized in connection with such vacancies; and

5. A list and brief description of the initiatives undertaken pursuant to Section 73.2080(c)(2) of the FCC rules.

Appendices 1 and 2 that follow have been designed, in the aggregate, to provide the required information.

For purposes of this Report, a vacancy was deemed “filled” not when the offer was extended but when the hire actually began working. A person was deemed “interviewed” whether he or she was interviewed in person, over the telephone or by e-mail.

Description of Activity: This was a virtual Sales Career Exploration Event held on September 15, 2020 at 6pm. Dave connected with four (4) students via Zoom about careers in sales as well as other positions available in radio.

Description of Activity: Dave participated in ISU’s end of semester reverse career fair on professional selling. Dave spoke with eight students about careers available in radio and more specifically in sales. Each of the students presented sales management ideas that were then critiqued by Dave.

Description of Activity: This was a virtual career fair held from 12:00-4PM on Handshake. Dave was able to talk to approximately 25 ISU Students virtually about jobs available in radio and possible internships that might become available.

Description of Activity: Dave was asked to participate in this virtual event sponsored by ISU, entitled State Farm Circle of Influence Speaker Series. Dave was invited to speak to the students on Developing the Next Generation of Sales. A resume book for the students involved in sales courses was made available to the speakers to give them a sense of the areas of interest. Dave was able to speak to approximately 60 students during this virtual event.

Description of Activity: This was a virtual career fair via the Handshake system. Tim interviewed seven students during the event and had two follow-up interviews after the fact. Tim felt two of the seven initially interviewed warranted a 2nd interview. He asked individuals to submit their resumes in advance of the interview process. This Evansville radio group was actively recruiting for sales candidates.

Description of Activity: Tim, representing WWVR/WTHI/WMGI/WBOW/WIBQ Radio in Terre Haute, IN and WLYD/WIKY/WABX/WSTO in Evansville, IN made a very generous contribution to the 2021 Indiana Broadcaster Foundation College Scholarship Fund. Additionally, Tim acted as a judge voting on the student applications.

Description of Activity: Dave participated in the above Sales Industry Panel via Zoom. These events are designed to develop the next generation of sales leaders. Dave was able to talk about what is expected of potential sales candidates and what background and attitude he is looking for. He had an opportunity to talk with the Director, Sales & Negotiation Center as well as two of the student participants.

Description of Activity: Mariah, a nursing student at St. Mary of the Woods College, who plans to own and operate a nursing facility one day, wanted to learn about radio marketing and what it would take to perhaps host a weekly show someday to talk about the role nurses have in our lives. She toured our studios with Marty, was shown how radio uses social media, websites and how programming clocks work. Dave covered marketing with her.

Description of Activity: Two children in service with Hamilton Center and their Care Manager visited our stations for a tour and a Q&A about what it’s like to work in radio. Baley showed the various studios to them, demonstrated automation and the voicetracking system, practiced editing in Adobe Audition and gave the kids a chance to record themselves and play it back.

Description of Activity: Presented by David Oxenford of the Washington, DC law firm Wilkinson Barker Knauer, this 1.5 hour webinar covered wide dissemination of information about job openings, outreach activities, etc. and confirming the FCC’s requirements continue even with the impact of COVID in all radio markets and the required social distancing. Very good information.
