In this historical case study, we explore the origins of Nokia and their progress toward breaking new ground in telecommunications technology. INTRODUCTION The name, ‘Nokia’ actually originated from a Finnish town called Nokia, and also the Nokianvirta river. It is a multinational corporation first started in 1865 by Fredrik Figure 1.
