The Dove-Award winning band has sold more than one million albums and will perform in the Chris Beck Arena on Wednesday, August 10th at 7:30 pm. The band’s 2007 release of Remedy debuted at #1 on the Christian charts and #22 on the Billboard Top 200. The six-piece band is known for including unconventional instruments and elements into their work. For those unfamiliar with the David Crowder Band, who was named MSN.com’s 2006 Artist of the Year, the group’s earliest beginnings trace back to the 1990s when Crowder left his hometown of Texarkana for Waco, Texas, attended Baylor University, and founded the University Baptist Church. Crowder, who has authored two books, 2005’s Praise Habit: Finding God in Sunsets and Sushi and 2006’s Everybody Wants to Go to Heaven, but Nobody Wants to Die or (The Eschatology of Bluegrass)--remains a Waco fixture, where he’s still involved with the church’s student-saturated congregation. Tickets are on sale now at the Sonoma County Fair Box Office or online via the Sonoma County Fair website (www.SonomaCountyFair.com). Headline concerts require a separate ticket purchase in addition to General Admission to the Fair. Tickets are $15 for reserved grandstand seating; $10 for children (3-12) or $20 for reserved floor seats (children and adults). Fair general admission tickets can be purchased before the Fair (through July 26) for $7; $9 at the gate. See our website for the box office schedule.
