Submission of Application Forms: Duly filled in downloaded application form, accompanied by a DD of Rs. 250/- ( i.e. cost of application form) drawn in favour of ‘Kazi Nazrul University’, payable at Asansol along with the self-attested photo copies of Admit Card ( MP or its equivalent exam. ), Mark Sheets of all the Public Examinations passed and SC/ ST Certificate ( for relaxation in marks only ), shall be submitted, either personally or by representative, to the College /Institute concerned on or before 01.08.2016. (Honours) Course of Studies Academic Year: 2016 - 17 Information Sheet (Candidates are advised to follow carefully the information given below) Applications are invited for admission to the 5-year LL.B.(Honours) Course (academic session 2016 – 2020). Applications Forms are to be downloaded from the website of the Kazi Nazrul University (www.knu.ac.in) on and from 15.07.2016 to 01.08.2016. The application form must accompany a) a Demand Draft of Rs. 300/- (Rupees Three Hundred only) in favour of ‘Kazi Nazrul University’ payable at Asansol, b) Self attested photo copies of mark-sheets of the relevant examinations, c) Self attested photo copy of identity proof, d) Certificates of S.C./S.T./Differently Able (P.H.), if any, against admission under reserved category. A Candidate concerned, while prosecuting a regular course of study in Law under this University, shall neither take up nor shall be permitted to take up any other course simultaneously. Candidates must verify eligibility before collecting the application forms. Availability of Application Forms: Application forms for admission to 5-Year B.A. LL.B. Hons. Course of Studies will be available, only on the university website (http/www. knu.ac.in), not in the affiliated Law College/ Institute on and from 15.07.2016 to 01.08.2016. Form no. will be given by the office at the time of submission of the form. Eligibility: For admission to 5- Year B.A. LL.B (Hons.) Course, every candidate shall have to pass the Higher Secondary Examination under 10 + 2 pattern or its equivalent examination securing not below 45% of the total marks in case of general category and 40% of the total marks in case of SC and ST applicants. Candidates, seeking relaxation in marks and age under SC/ ST category, must enclose self-attested photo copy of the Certificate obtained from the competent authority to authenticate their claim. Relevant certificate must conform to THE W.B. GOVT. MEMO NO. 1813-BCW / MR-94/11 dated Kolkata, 20th June, 2011. The certificate must be obtained from one of the authorities listed below: i) Deputy Director, Backward Classes Welfare, West Bengal and Commissioner, Backward Classes Welfare, West Bengal in case of candidates claiming to be Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe residing in any part of West Bengal. ii) Deputy Commissioner of Land Revenue, Kolkata Collector of Stamp Revenue, Kolkata, Metropolitan Magistrate, Kolkata, Addl. Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Kolkata, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Kolkata, 1st Class Stipendiary Magistrate, Executive Magistrate, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Sub-Divisional Officer, Deputy Collector, Addl. District Magistrate, Collector and District Magistrate with their respective jurisdictions in case of candidates claiming to be Scheduled Cast or Scheduled Tribe and ordinary residing within such jurisdictions. Submission of applications by post should be avoided. Mode of Selection for Admission: Selection for admission to the course shall be made strictly on the basis of merit to be determined by the percentage of marks obtained at the Higher Secondary or its equivalent Examination under 10 + 2 pattern. In case of tie, marks in English at the Higher Secondary or its equivalent Examination, under 10 + 2 pattern, will be compared. Marks in English at the Madhyamik Pariksha or its equivalent examination will be considered as the third criterion, if needed. Publication of List: Notification of publication of Provisional Rank List will be available only on the University Website ( http/www.knu.ac.in) on 03.08.2016. Class Attendance: If a student concerned fails to attend the minimum of 75% of the total lectures delivered in a semester, he/ she shall not be allowed to appear in that examination, Provided that if a student of semester-I fails to attend the requisite minimum number of lectures delivered as mentioned, shall not get readmission and he/ she shall have to take admission afresh, Provided that from the second semester onward, if a candidate is declared discollegiate due to shortage of required no. of attendance, he/ she may be allowed to take readmission in that semester on the recommendation of the appropriate authority.
