During the pri- me time of the world championships, the Saturday night, the auction follows the final of the 7-year-old dressage horses.O ur team can be proud to offer another top collection of foals and sport horses with plenty of talent. Last year, the EDS auction in Ermelo already featured some fantastic highlights, but the average talent of this year’s overall collection shows even móre future perspective. EDS was born with the idea that we can offer great quality through the combination of resources of four top stables. An essential aspect amongst those resources are the breeders within the network of the- se businesses. It allows us to offer better foals out of a wide selection and it is with great pleasure that we present this collection. Our team travelled across the Netherlands and we have become a close team. Each and every one of us has his own qualities and expertise and at the same time we keep each other on our toes. Collections from earlier editions show that many talents that were sold in an EDS auc- tion now perform very well. For example, the first EDS edition has produced Five Star, who won silver at the World Breeding Dressage Championships for Young Horses last year. In fact, many other EDS horses can be found amongst the World Breeding Dressage Championships for Young Horses selection, such as Foundation and Filegra, and Giraldo for Great Britain. They are qualified, took part in or are in the middle of the selection pro- cess. All horses from the first EDS edition! Hopefully also this year EDS will let many riders travel home happy and content with their new horse or foal. We wish them great success! DFor our stallions and their offspring, 2016 was a year of rewards. First of all, our fantastic sire Balou du Rouet, multimillionaire XXXIV. A.O.S.-Auction from his offspring’s prize money, once again occupied the seventh place of the WBFSH world ranking. Sandro Hit was able to in September 2017 maintain and develop his very good position among the world elite of dressage sires, currently placed third. During the year, Sandro Hit’s offspring won two Olympic medals, which absolutely confirms his high-performance assessment. Our stallions Fürstenball, Vivaldi, Bordeaux, Foundation, Vitalis, Sir Donnerhall I and Diarado were amongst the leading group of all German stallions according to the German FN‘s 2016 predicted breeding value statistics. The use of famous and internationally successful sires reflects the success of our young stallions: For example, at the stallion perfor- mance tests, Chacfly and For Laubry were in the lead and in 2016, at the main German licensings no less than 44 descendants of Schockemöhle stallions were licensed. In 2016, stallions from Mühlen once again dominated the Oldenburg Elite Mare show in Rastede’s Schlosspark.
