Annual Weekend of Wellness March 12-15, 2020 SAVE THE DATE FOR THE 9TH ANNUAL WEEKEND OF WELLNESS • MARCH 12-15, 2020 FEATURING 2020 KEYNOTE SPEAKER SHANNON HAPPE BAHRKE Shannon Bahrke was born and raised in Lake Tahoe, CA and moved to Salt Lake City, UT in 1998 to pursue her dreams of making the U.S. Ski Team and to ultimately compete for the USA at the Winter Olympic Games. She made the U.S. Ski Team that very same year and had continued success for the next twelve years. Shannon competed on 6 World Championship Teams, 3 Olympic Teams, brought home 2 Olympic Medals, 7 World Cup Wins, 1 Overall World Cup Title and 6 National Titles. Shannon retired in 2010, and she and her husband, Matt, started up their first company, Silver Bean Coffee, in 2013; it was sold that same year. She now has her plate full again with a 6 year old little girl named Zoe and a 1 year old baby boy named Tucker. Working as a Ski Champion for Deer Valley, Shannon wrote a children’s book titled Mommy, Why Is Your Hair Pink? and launched a leadership development and team building company called Team Empower Hour! He said they had been best friends since they were 13 years old. They had been students together at the University of Colorado.

    2007–08 Annual Report 2 • MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT The 2008 season was memorable for great athletic results, as well as continued growth of U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association programs around the country. As an organization, we’ve raised the bar and our USSA clubs and athletes are responding. The USSA is a best in the world organization focused on athletic excellence with an emphasis on values. Our champions set an example for younger athletes with their ability to continually raise their level of accomplishment while representing our sports as positive role models. In addition to great athletic results chronicled in each sport, our organization made huge strides this year. • USSA membership grew for the ninth straight year including a record number of member clubs. • Both corporate sponsorships and private giving increased in 2007-08 to help support athletic programs.
