  • Album Is Rocker’S First Plugged-In Live Album Since 1989
1 BRYAN ADAMS’ LIVE AT THE BUDOKAN PACKAGE FEATURES CONCERT DVD PLUS BONUS LIVE CD FROM 2000 WORLD TOUR PERFORMANCE; ALBUM IS ROCKER’S FIRST PLUGGED-IN LIVE ALBUM SINCE 1989 Bryan Adams has earned an enormous global fandom. One of rock’s most popular and successful artists, the multiplatinum- selling singer-songwriter is also one of rock’s best live performers. Now a Japanese television concert special from his latest world tour comes to America in a DVD+CD set Live At The Budokan (A&M/UME), released June 17, 2003, featuring a bonus CD, Adams’ first plugged-in live album since 1989. Filmed during a 2000 performance at the Budokan in Tokyo, the nearly two-hour-long DVD features 26 songs, including four bonus tracks which were not originally broadcast in Japan: “Fits Ya Good,” “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever,” “Before The Night Is Over” and “Still Beautiful To Me.” Shot in the High-Definition format and digitally transferred to provide the best possible picture resolution, the DVD includes both a 5.1 Surround and a stereo mix. (A DVD-only edition of Live At The Budokan will be issued July 15, 2003.) Among the concert highlights are energetic renditions of many of his biggest hits, from the #1 smashes “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You” (the Oscar- and Grammy-winner from Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves), “Heaven” and “Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman?” to the Top 10s “Can’t Stop This Thing We Started,” “Run To You,” “Summer Of ‘69” and “Please Forgive Me,” and Top 40 charters “It’s Only Love” and “Cuts Like A Knife.” Other fan favorites include “18 Til I Die,” “I’m Ready,” “The Best Of Me,” “Back To You,” “Into The Fire” and the blues jam “If Ya Wanna Be Bad Ya Gotta Be Good/Let’s Make A Night To Remember.” 2 “When You’re Gone” and “Cloud Number 9” were first heard on Adams’ most recent album, 1998’s On A Day Like Today, as were “How Do Ya Feel Tonight,” “Before The Night Is Over,” “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” and “Getaway.” The latter quartet were among eight songs in this concert set not performed for 2001’s concert DVD Live At Slane Castle.

  • G64dbs Exercise 3: Querying the Database
    G64DBS EXERCISE 3: QUERYING THE DATABASE INTRODUCTION This exercise will cover a variety of queries you can accomplish using SQL’s SELECT statement. If you have completed Exercises 1 and 2 then your database should contain tables for Artist and CD records. In order to add some variety for the queries, we should add a few more CDs. If you’d like more practice with INSERT and UPDATE operations then try to match your tables to these: mysql> SELECT * FROM Artist; +-------+---------------------------------+ | artID | artName | +-------+---------------------------------+ | 6 | Animal Collective | | 3 | DeadMau5 | | 7 | Kings of Leon | | 4 | Mark Ronson | | 5 | Mark Ronson & The Business Intl | | 8 | Maroon 5 | | 2 | Mr. Scruff | | 1 | Muse | +-------+---------------------------------+ 8 rows in set (0.00 sec) mysql> SELECT * FROM CD; +------+-------+-----------------------------+---------+---------------+ | cdID | artID | cdTitle | cdPrice | cdGenre | +------+-------+-----------------------------+---------+---------------+ | 1 | 1 | Black Holes and Revelations | 9.99 | Rock | | 2 | 1 | The Resistance | 11.99 | Rock | | 3 | 2 | Ninja Tuna | 9.99 | Electronica | | 4 | 3 | For Lack of a Better Name | 9.99 | Electro House | | 5 | 4 | Version | 11.99 | Rock | | 6 | 5 | Record Collection | 12.99 | Pop | | 7 | 6 | Merriweather Post Pavilion | 12.99 | Electronica | | 8 | 7 | Only By The Night | 9.99 | Rock | | 9 | 7 | Come Around Sundown | 12.99 | Rock | | 10 | 8 | Hands All Over | 11.99 | Pop | +------+-------+-----------------------------+---------+---------------+ 10 rows in set (0.00 sec) You may have different ID values, do not worry about this. If you feel you don’t need to practice any more insertions or updates, then you can recreate these tables exactly using the file setupex3.sql. This is a text file that contains a list of SQL commands.

  • Essays on Scandinavian Literature
Essays On Scandinavian Literature By Hjalmar Hjorth Boyesen Essays On Scandinavian Literature BJÖRNSTJERNE BJÖRNSON I Björnstjerne Björnson is the first Norwegian poet who can in any sense be called national. The national genius, with its limitations as well as its virtues, has found its living embodiment in him. Whenever he opens his mouth it is as if the nation itself were speaking. If he writes a little song, hardly a year elapses before its phrases have passed into the common speech of the people; composers compete for the honor of interpreting it in simple, Norse-sounding melodies, which gradually work their way from the drawing-room to the kitchen, the street, and thence out over the wide fields and highlands of Norway. His tales, romances, and dramas express collectively the supreme result of the nation's experience, so that no one to- day can view Norwegian life or Norwegian history except through their medium. The bitterest opponent of the poet (for like every strong personality he has many enemies) is thus no less his debtor than his warmest admirer. His speech has stamped itself upon the very language and given it a new ring, a deeper resonance. His thought fills the air, and has become the unconscious property of all who have grown to manhood and womanhood since the day when his titanic form first loomed up on the horizon of the North. It is not only as their first and greatest poet that the Norsemen love and hate him, but also as a civilizer in the widest sense. But like Kadmus, in Greek myth, he has not only brought with him letters, but also the dragon-teeth of strife, which it is to be hoped will not sprout forth in armed men.
