Job Title: Snowmaker Department: Snowmaking Reports To: Manager, Shift Supervisor Request Date: 10-20-14 FLSA: Non-Exempt Status: Seasonal Full Time NOTE: This job description shall not be construed as a contract for employment. SUMMARY: This job is an outside position working in the elements, working under dark, cold and adverse conditions. Work begins late October and typically runs through the middle of January. 12 hour shifts are required Day Shift from 7am to 7pm, Night Shift from 7pm to 7am four consecutive days. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned): 1. Gun runs consisting of rotating guns, checking snow quality and clearing snow from around shelters. 2. Setup, teardown, troubleshooting and mobilization of automatic, manual and fan guns. 3. Monitor and operation of snowmaking computer as well as system pressure and flow. 4. Monitor and operation of water computer. 5. Monitor snowmaking motor room EQUIPMENT USED: Trucks, ATV, UTV, Snowmobiles, Trailers, Ski and Snowboard Equipment (day shift only), fixed guns, Mobile guns, Hoses, Shovel, Hand tools and torches. RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY: 1. Vehicle safety training (truck, ATV and snowmobile) 2. Hearing protection 3. Proper Clothing and footwear 4. Controlled skiing and snowboarding 5. Environmental awareness QUALIFICATIONS: 18 years or older EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Prior snowmaking a plus. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid Driver License PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to lift and carry 75 lbs. Using hands to grasp, twist, push and climb. Advanced skier or snowboarder (Day shift only). Able to work in extreme weather conditions for extended periods of time. Ability to hike in varying snow conditions. 1 .
