The present study was done to better understand and update the fauna of Culicidae and to find out the distribution and the type of their larval habitats in Kashan County. Methods: This study was done in four districts of Kashan County (Central, Qamasr, Niasar and Barzok). Mosquito lar- vae were collected from 23 active larval habitats using a standard 350ml capacity mosquito dipper from April to late December 2019. The collected larvae were transferred to containers containing lactophenol, and after two weeks indi- vidually mounted in Berlese's fluid on a microscope slide and identified to species by morphological characters and valid keys. Results: In this study, a total of 9789 larvae were collected from urban and rural areas in Kashan County. The identified genera were Anopheles, Culiseta and Culex. -

Changing the land uses, converting the urban lands and rising the impregnability of surfaces have changed the hydrological regime of urban watersheds in such a way that most of the rainfall turns into the runoff. This research seeks to use Santa Barbara urban hydrography in the environment of Storm water Management and Design Aid (SMADA) to study the effects of land use changes and the impermeable surfaces' arise in the flooding possibility of municipal watershed Zarrin Shahr in Isfahan province in Iran. To analyze the achievement data, the required maps of the area were first prepared by Arc-GIS software. Then, the preparation process of annual and maximally 24-hour rainfall data was undertaken by the help of the synoptic situation of Zarrin Shahr. All the parameters required for the above mentioned model such as concentration time, design rain and curve number (CN) were studied and determined. Then, the hydrographic simulation of the flood was done in the environment of SMADA. -

These mosquito-borne diseases along with the nuisance caused by female adult bitings are troublesome throughout mosquito active season. During July–October 2003, May–September 2004 and 2006, we collected mosquito larvae from Isfahan using dipping method, to study their fauna, habitat, and affinity indices. Collected larvae were preserved in lactophenol and mounted using de Faure’s medium prior to microscopy study. Larvae were identified based on morphological characters. Out of 1659 third- and fourth-instar larvae, we discovered 15 species representing five genera including; Anopheles dthali, An. maculipennis s.l., An. marteri, An. multicolor, An. superpictus, An. turkhudi, Aedes vexans, Culex hortensis, Cx. mimeticus, Cx. perexiguus, Cx. pipiens, Cx. territans, Cx. theileri, Culiseta longiareolata, and Ochlerotatus caspius s.l. -

Graduate student, Science and Research University of Isfahan, Isfahan, Iran Received 31 Jan 2013; accepted 11 May 2013 ABSTRACT It is about 50 years that FMD affected the ruminants of Isfahan. Last outbreaks of FMD were happened at 2005 even vaccinated animals, so in current work using RT-PCR, sequencing and regression "r" values, the isolated strains in Isfahan were identified. The aim of this study was molecular epidemiology of FMDV in Isfahan province as the central part of Iran in 2006-2009. According to the result , a highly pathogen A05 strain was isolated from west (Najafabad city) about 2 months after the entrance of this virus to Iran through the west and north west margins toward central part and then distributed around 10 cities of Isfahan province. Here it is obvious that the A05 strain of Isfahan just showed 1% difference with A05IR (vaccine strain), in which for A22 were 65 %. Also based on the alignment of 600 bp of 3΄ end of the VP1 sequences of isolated type O comparing with representative of type O Shabestar vaccine strain and the other provinces of Iran, the Isfahan O isolate was 3% distinct from O shabestar vaccine strain.
