It is located in the heart of Europe and is part of the European Union. Poland has a rich and dynamic culture and a strong academic tradition. Over 50% of the country’s citizens have a university or college degree. The language spoken in Poland is Polish, but many Poles also speak English, especially in larger cities. Poland is a great place to study for foreigners, and the cost of living and studying in Poland is far lower than in other European countries. 4 ABOUT WARSAW Warsaw is the political and economic capital of Poland. It has about 1,7 million inhabitants and is the 6th largest city in the European Union. Warsaw is also the most ethnically diverse city in the country, and has more universities and colleges than any other Polish city. Warsaw is also very welcoming for foreign students and is a great place to study and build a successful career. 5 ABOUT LAZARSKI UNIVERSITY A FACULTY OF EXPERTS The faculty members who teach and do research at Lazarski University are experts with many years of educational and practical experience. They also hold degrees from top educational institutions not just in Poland but also from other countries like the USA, UK, Canada, Germany, Italy, and others. The teaching methods that are used are not just based on lectures but also on case studies, simulation games, and practical workshops designed to give students the skills they need to succeed in their future careers. 6 ABOUT LAZARSKI UNIVERSITY DIVERSE STUDENT POPULATION Lazarski Univesity has around 4000 students studying in English or Polish. Over 80% of the students in the English- language programs come from outside of Poland from countries like Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Germany, Belgium, Vietnam, China, Russia, and many others. CONVENIENT LOCATION Lazarski University is located in Warsaw, Poland’s economic and political capital. The campus is located in the south- western part of the city in the Mokotow district, and is a mere 4 metro stops away from the city centre. The campus is also close to the main international airport in Warsaw, which is about 5 km away. 7 STUDENT SUPPORT SCHOLARSHIPS AND AWARDS Lazarski University offers a variety of entry scholarships for bright and ambitious candidates. Scholarships and tuition reductions are also available for students during their academic career based on grade performance and extracurricular activity. ACCOMMODATION The Accommodations Department provides many different housing solutions for foreign students. These include dormitories as well as apartments. Lazarski University also cooperates with a number of real estate agents to help students find the perfect place to live if they wish to look for accommodation on their own. 8 VISA AND LEGAL SUPPORT The Student Help Desk is dedicated to helping new and current students adapt to academic life in Warsaw and at Lazarski University. This is the place where students can turn to with issues regarding their schooling or life in the city, and where they can receive comprehensive information and assistance about travel and student visas, legalization of their residence, insurance, etc. MEDICAL ASSISTANCE The Lazarski University health clinic is ran by the private company Centermed and offers medical assistance to both Polish and foreign students. It is open five days a week and is staffed by competent doctors and nurses who treat basic illnesses and, if needed, can refer students for more specialized treatment in nearby hospitals. 9 STUDENT LIFE STUDENT’S UNION The Student Union represents student interests and organizes student life by initiating cultural events, entertainment and integration events, as well as tours and trips to other cities – all of which are excellent opportunities to play and relax after class, integrate and allow students to forge strong friendships and lasting memories. SPORTS AND CLUBS The Physical Education department offers many classes and activities for active students. These include aerobics, football, basketball, volleyball, handball, swimming, and many more. There are also a number of student clubs and initiatives which students can join to help them meet more people and broaden their horizons. 10 INTERNSHIPS AND JOBS PLACEMENT In addition to pursuing their degrees and studying hard, Lazarski University also encourages students to gain real-world work experience through internships and part-time jobs. Here the Internships and Jobs Department works to connect students with employers both during their academic career, and after graduation, as well as helps students prepare for their first job interviews. STUDENT EXCHANGES At Lazarski University students also have an opportunity to study for one or two semesters at a partner university outside of Poland. Exchanges are available with over 90 different universities in countries like Germany, Belgium, Demark, Cyprus, France, Spain, Turkey, Vietnam, and many others. 11 OUR DOUBLE-DEGREE PARTNER COVENTRY UNIVERSITY Coventry University is a forward-looking, modern university with a proud tradition as a provider of high quality education and a focus on applied research. The university currently has over 26 000 students, and is located in the city of Coventry, about 160 km north-west of London, England. It has won many awards for its teaching and research achievements and is highly ranked as a top university in the UK. Lazarski University currently operates four double-degree programs with Coventry University: BA in International Relations and European Studies, BA in Business Economics, MA in International Relations, and International Business Economics.
