Corky joined the band shortly aer Mountain played at the famous Woodstock Festival, although he did receive a gold disc for sales of the soundtrack album after over-dubbing drums on Ten Years Aer s performance. Whilst with Mountain Corky Laing recorded three studio albums with them before the band split. Following the split Corky, along with Mountain guitarist Leslie West, formed a rock three-piece with former Cream bassist Jack Bruce. West, Bruce and Laing recorded two studio albums and a live album before West and Laing re-formed Mountain, along with Felix Pappalardi. Since 1974 Corky and Leslie have led Mountain through various line ups and recordings, and continue to record and perform today at numerous concerts across the world. In addition to his work with Mountain, Corky Laing has recorded one solo album and formed the band Cork with former Spin Doctors guitarist Eric Shenkman, and recorded a further two studio albums with the band, which has also featured former Jimi Hendrix bassist Noel Redding. The stories are told in an incredibly frank, engaging and amusing manner, and will appeal also to those people who may not necessarily be fans of Corky Laing s work with Mountain, and as such, should appeal to fans of rock biographies. This camp promises to be our most amazing yet! For the last 10 years, this camp has been a dream in the making. When I first started this camp, one of my dreams was to be able to give campers access to one of the most famous studios in the world, Abbey Road. Now that dream has been realized and I'm thrilled to bring you inside and let you experience what the Beatles, Pink Floyd, and Green Day have all been a part of. I'm equally excited to have you at John Henry’s. This is the very studio where rock royalty rehearses and records, where bands playing at Live 8 or the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony come to practice. Many thanks to John Henry for allowing us to use his famous facility. Then we're on to Liverpool! It's an even more special time to visit the city where the Beatles got their start, because it also happens to be the 40th Anniversary of one of the greatest albums of all time, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Seeing the sights and sounds of Liverpool, and jamming to Beatles songs at the legendary Cavern Club---this year's camp will surely be a once-in-a-lifetime event! It's a week to make all your dreams come true, so turn off your cellphones and get ready.
