Game Notes • Weather at game time was 60 degrees and partly sunny. The wind was from the NW at 10-15 miles per hour. • The game was televised by Pac-12 Networks. Kevin Calabro was the play-by-play announcer; Yogi Roth was the analyst and Lewis Johnson was the sideline reporter. • It was the first meeting between the teams. • It was the 119th opener in OSU football history, and the fourth time in the past five years the Beavers have started the season against a Big Sky Conference opponent. • Oregon State won the coin toss and elected to defer. The Beavers kicked off from the south end zone. • Oregon State’s captains were Larry Scott, Storm Barrs-Woods, Josh Mitchell and Isaac Seumalo. • Oregon State wore black jerseys, while pants and white helmets. Weber State wore white jerseys, purple pants and purple helmets. • Attendance for the game was 35,160.

Oregon State Team Notes • Gary Andersen improved to 1-0 at OSU and to 50-38 overall in 7-plus seasons as a head coach. He is 31-9 since 2012, inclusive. • Andersen is the fourth consecutive OSU coach to win his first game. defeated North Texas 33-7 on Sept. 6, 1997; defeated Nevada 28-13 on Sept. 4, 1999 and Riley defeated Sacramento State 40-7 on August 8, 2003 to begin his second stint as head coach. The last new coach to lose his first game at OSU was , 22-10 to Utah on Sept. 9, 1991. • The Beavers have now won 110 games in the 21st century, third-most among Pac-12 teams who were members of the conference for that entire period. Utah has 125 wins in the 21st century but the bulk of them came between 2000 and 2010, when the Utes played in the . • OSU’s lineup featured a number of first-time starters, including quarterback Seth Collins, nose tackle Kyle Peko, defensive end Titus Failuaga, linebacker Bright Ugwoegbu, cornerback Treston DeCoud and punter Nick Porebski. • Offensive tackle Sean Harlow started his team-leading 22nd consecutive game. Tailback Storm Barrs-Woods made his 32nd career start, a team high. • The Beavers have now won 110 games in the 21st century, third-most among Pac-12 teams that have been members of the conference during that entire span. Utah has 124 wins in the 21st century but the bulk of those victories came when the Utes played in the Mountain West Conference. • Three true freshmen played in their first game: Collins, tailback Deltron Sands and wide receiver Paul Lucas. Oregon State Individual Notes • Seth Collins became the first true freshman quarterback to start a game since David Moran, against Washington State on Oct. 12, 1996, at then-Parker Stadium. • Collins threw the first touchdown pass of his career, a 4-yard hookup with Victor Bolden, with 6:47 remaining in the third quarter. • Collins rushed for 152 yards on 17 carries to become the first quarterback to rush for 100 yards since Tim Alexander ran for 205 against Northern Illinois at then-Parker Stadium in Nov.16, 1996.on Nov. 16, 1996. • Punter Nick Porebski averaged 37.7 yards on six punts, the first of his career. Three were downed inside Weber State’s 20-yard line. • Garrett Owens made all four of his field-goal attempts and is now 15-for-17 in his career. He is now 9-for-9 from 30 yards or longer. • OSU placekickers have made 10 consecutive field goals overall and 19 of their last 20 dating back to the fourth quarter of last year’s season-opening 29-14 win over Portland State. • Senior tailback Storm Barrs-Woods gained 63 yards on 15 carries and now has 2,246 career yards. He moved past Pete Pifer (1964-66) into sixth place on OSU’s career list. Pifer gained 2,233 yards. • Senior linebacker Rommel Mageo had a career-high 11 tackles, one tackle for loss, a sack, deflected a pass and forced a fumble.
