Research was conducted on nine main destinations. The study uses the promethee ranking method, sensitivity analysis and GAIA plane analysis. The results showed that the competitiveness of West Sumatra tourist destinations is determined by the aspects of promotion and accessibility aspects, but the aspects of amenity and attractiveness have not yet been successfully addressed, so that promotions carried out in general have made return visits low and many problems have disrupted the beauty, comfort, safety and even environmental damage, due to the promotion of tourism that has not been accompanied by the provision of amenities in the tourist destination. There are three tourist destination areas that have advantages in 3A2P aspects in West Sumatra namely Padang City, Bukittinggi City and Sawahlunto City. Factors causing its superiority are mainly on promotion and accessibility factors, but in the aspect of security and attractiveness almost all tourist destinations still experience a number of shortcomings of some of the criteria. The policy of increasing the main competitiveness of tourism in West Sumatra can be done most urgently (necessary conditions) is to improve the crystalline amenities and aspects of attractiveness. While the aspects of promotion and accessibility can be a second alternative (sufficient condition). Jel Classification: D78, P51, Z32. However, large data analysis on the TPR in Indonesia is still limited. In this study, we determined COVID-19 TPR dynamics of Indonesian West Sumatra Province in the rst year of cases were recorded. Method: We conducted an observational study with a cross-sectional approach from one-year secondary data of COVID-19 test using qualitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (q-RT-PCR) in West Sumatra collected from April 2020 until March 2021. The TPR(s) in the province, its regions (cities/ regencies), and districts were determined annually, quarterly, and monthly to analyze their trends. Results: From a total of 410,424 individuals taking COVID-19 q-RT-PCR examination during one-year observation, the provincial TPR was 8.11%. Advances in Engineering Research (AER), volume 147 Conference on Global Research on Sustainable Transport (GROST 2017) DOES BUKITTINGGI NEED AN AIRPORT? Prima Saputra1, Wike Arinda Putri2, Basri Fahriza3 1. STMT Trisakti, 2. STMT Trisakti, 3. STMT Trisakti corresponding author: [email protected] Abstract: Building a new airport in Bukittinggi becomes necessity to support tourism industry in west Sumatera and strengthen Bukittinggi as tourist destination. Eventhough the distance from Minangkabau International Airport to Bukittinggi is 72 km, the route and traffic condition have made the time to reach Bukittinggi about 2.5 hours on regular day but in holiday season the travel can take 10 hours. To analyze the problem we used SWOT and IFE and EFE to find the result of the discussion. Keywords: Bukittinggi, Airport, Transportation, Tourism, Infrastructure Introduction Transportation infrastructure is a key element for the development of tourist destination (Rai, 2017) . An airport is not only as infrastructure function but also as a supporting facilities of tourism sector. An air transport is able to move faster than other transportation and has a straight path with barrier free (Setiani, 2015). An airport can help reducing land transportation problems and can be an alternative in solving various problems which caused by land transportation. The tourism itself can bring so many impacts on the transportation, social, economy, etc. Tourism has become one of the fastest growing economic sectors in the world (Ferreira & Dias, 2015). The water quality data for supporting lake management in Indonesia are very limited due to financial constraints. To address this issue, satellite data are often used to retrieve water quality data. Here, we developed an empirical model for estimating the Secchi disk depth (SD) from Landsat TM/ETM+ data by using data collected from nine Indonesian lakes/reservoirs (SD values 0.5–18.6 m). We made two efforts to improve the robustness of the developed model. First, we carried out an image preprocessing series of steps (i.e., removing contaminated water pixels, filtering images, and mitigating atmospheric effects) before the Landsat data were used.
