Spinal injuries treatment is still in debate for some cases, whether using conservative or surgical methods. Material and Methods : The study was a retrospective, unpaired observational analytic study with a cross- sectional approach. It was conducted at Haji Adam Malik General Hospital, Medan from January 2016 to December 2018. Clinical outcome of patientswere calculated using SF 36, ODI, and VAS.Data would be tested using the Saphiro-Wilk test. We were using the significance level of 1% (0.01) and the relative significance level of 10% (0.1). Results : Clinical outcomes of patients with spinal cord injuries before posterior instrumentation rated using ODI and VAS were 75.93±6.75 and 4.75±0.98 respectively. -

New Treatment Option for an Incomplete Vertical Root Fracture-A
Hadrossek and Dammaschke Head & Face Medicine 2014, 10:9 http://www.head-face-med.com/content/10/1/9 HEAD & FACE MEDICINE CASE REPORT Open Access New treatment option for an incomplete vertical root fracture–a preliminary case report Paul Henryk Hadrossek and Till Dammaschke* Abstract Instead of extraction this case report presents an alternative treatment option for a maxillary incisor with a vertical root fracture (VRF) causing pain in a 78-year-old patient. After retreatment of the existing root canal filling the tooth was stabilized with a dentine adhesive and a composite restoration. Then the tooth was extracted, the VRF gap enlarged with a small diamond bur and the existing retrograde root canal filling removed. The enlarged fracture line and the retrograde preparation were filled with a calcium-silicate-cement (Biodentine). Afterwards the tooth was replanted and a titanium trauma splint was applied for 12d. A 24 months clinical and radiological follow-up showed an asymptomatic tooth, reduction of the periodontal probing depths from 7 mm prior to treatment to 3 mm and gingival reattachment in the area of the fracture with no sign of ankylosis. Hence, the treatment of VRF with Biodentine seems to be a possible and promising option. The International Association of Dental Traumatology (IADT) has developed these Guidelines as a con- sensus statement after a comprehensive review of the dental literature and working group discussions. Experienced researchers and clinicians from various specialties and the general dentistry community were included in the working group. In cases where the published data did not appear conclusive, recommendations were based on the consensus opinions or majority decisions of the working group. They were then reviewed and approved by the members of the IADT Board of Directors. The primary goal of these Guidelines is to provide clinicians with an approach for the immediate or urgent care of primary teeth injuries based on the best evidence provided by the literature and expert opinions. -

Galler1*, Eva‑Maria Grätz1, Matthias Widbiller1 , Wolfgang Buchalla1 and Helge Knüttel2 Abstract Background: The objective of this scoping review was to systematically explore the current knowledge of cellular and molecular processes that drive and control trauma‑associated root resorption, to identify research gaps and to provide a basis for improved prevention and therapy. Methods: Four major bibliographic databases were searched according to the research question up to Febru‑ ary 2021 and supplemented manually. Reports on physiologic, histologic, anatomic and clinical aspects of root resorption following dental trauma were included. Duplicates were removed, the collected material was screened by title/abstract and assessed for eligibility based on the full text. Relevant aspects were extracted, organized and summarized. Results: 846 papers were identifed as relevant for a qualitative summary. Consideration of pathophysiological mechanisms concerning trauma‑related root resorption in the literature is sparse. Whereas some forms of resorption have been explored thoroughly, the etiology of others, particularly invasive cervical resorption, is still under debate, resulting in inadequate diagnostics and heterogeneous clinical recommendations. Efective therapies for progres‑ sive replacement resorptions have not been established. Whereas the discovery of the RANKL/RANK/OPG system is essential to our understanding of resorptive processes, many questions regarding the functional regulation of osteo‑/ odontoclasts remain unanswered. Conclusions: This scoping review provides an overview of existing evidence, but also identifes knowledge gaps that need to be addressed by continued laboratory and clinical research. -

This present review aimed to describe and sum up the different approaches to regenerative endodontic treatment conducted in the last 10 years; (2) Methods: A literature search was performed in the PubMed and Cochrane Library electronic databases, supplemented by a manual search. The search strategy included the following terms: “regenerative endodontic protocol”, “regenerative endodontic treatment”, and “regenerative en- dodontics” combined with “pulp revascularization”. Only studies on humans, published in the last 10 years and written in English were included; (3) Results: Three hundred and eighty-six potentially significant articles were identified. After exclusion of duplicates, and meticulous analysis, 36 case reports were selected; (4) Conclusions: The pulp revascularization procedure may bring a favorable outcome, however, the prognosis of regenerative endodontics (RET) is unpredictable. Permanent immature teeth showed greater potential for positive outcomes after the regenerative procedure.
