Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 Staffordshire (Rowley Regis) Definitive Map and Statement The Borough Council of Sandwell (Dudley Road East, Brades Hall, Tividale Rowley Regis,West Midlands) Definitive Map Modification Order 2013 Made 3rd December 2013 Highway Submission to the Secretary of State for purposes of confirming the above order as required under paragraph 3(d) of Schedule 4 of the Wildlife and Countryside Regulations 1993. Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council Sandwell Council House Freeth St Oldbury West Midlands 15th December 2015 as amended (ref WLK/Temple) Final Version [IL0: UNCLASSIFIED] G FOOTPATH D H C E F B A DUDLEY ROAD EAST [IL0: UNCLASSIFIED] Mr William King BSc (hons) MSc MRTPI will say : I am employed by Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council West Midlands. I hold Bachelor and Master of Science degrees obtained consecutively from Science and Engineering faculties at University. I am a chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and former Graduate, previously Associate, member of the then named Institute of Biology. My initial brief in respect of the highway functions of Sandwell MBC was to identify and introduce statutory procedures to undertake evidentially based definitive map order responsibilities with additional duties following, namely: The management of the Council’s minor highway network with associated tasks and stopping up main roads for development through the use of highway orders. I consequently introduced the courts to Sandwell Planning authority to alter both the minor and (by agreement with the Highway authority) major highway networks of the borough. To date all Definitive map order applications plus subsequent order work has been primarily processed through me with variable participation from law officers. -

Tividale Neighbourhood
26 Tividale Neighbourhood Neighbourhood Profile 26.1 The Tividale Neighbourhood is located in the Tividale Ward of Sandwell MBC (see Map at Appendix 6). It is a large neighbourhood, mainly residential in nature and containing a significant amount of open space. It makes up the largest part of Tividale Ward, it is bounded by the New Birmingham Road to the north with Grace Mary Neighbourhood to the east with Oakham Neighbourhood to the south west. The nature of the neighbourhood is such that it comprises many ‘sub’ neighbourhoods – indeed the area to the south of Grace Mary might more properly be an extension to Grace Mary rather than be part of Tividale Neighbourhood. 26.2 The census data from 2001 identifies that Tividale has a population of 6490 – this shows a decline of 992 people since the 1991 census. 94.6% (6132) people are white. Of the remaining 5.4% the largest population groups are identified as Indian 1.6% with 1.8% Caribbean and 1.1% mixed race. 26.3 The population is split 52%: 48% female to male. There are 2001 people aged 0-24 living in the neighbourhood – that is 30.8%. There are 1375 people aged 60 and over – that is 21.2%. All of these are very close to the Borough’s figures. 2001 Census key statistics data and neighbourhood profile attached as Appendix 7. Transforming the Urban form 26.4 There are 2683 households in the neighbourhood, 1883 (70.5%) are in owner-occupation. This is higher than the Sandwell average of 60.3%. -

Worcestershire Has Fluctuated in Size Over the Centuries
HUMAN GENETICS IN WORCESTERSHIRE AND THE SHAKESPEARE COUNTRY I. MORGAN WATKIN County Health Department, Abet ystwyth Received7.x.66 1.INTRODUCTION THEwestern limits of Worcestershire lie about thirty miles to the east of Offa's Dyke—the traditional boundary between England and Wales —yet Evesham in the south-eastern part of the county is described by its abbot in a petition to Thomas Cromwell in as situated within the Principality of Wales. The Star Chamber Proceedings (No. 4) in the reign of Henry VII refer to the bridge of stone at Worcester by which the king's subjects crossed from England into Wales and the demonstrations against the Act of 1430 regulating navigation along the Severn were supported by large numbers of Welshmen living on the right bank of the river in Worcestershire. The object of the investigation is to ascertain whether significant genetic differences exist in the population of Worcestershire and south-western Warwickshire and, in particular, whether the people living west of the Severn are more akin to the Welsh than to the English. The possibility of determining, on genetic grounds, whether the Anglo- Saxon penetration was strongest from the south up the rivers Severn and Avon, or across the watershed from the Trent in the north, or from the east through Oxfordshire and Warwickshire is also explored. 2. THECOUNTY Worcestershirehas fluctuated in size over the centuries and Stratford-on-Avon came for a period under its jurisdiction while Shipston-on-Stour, now a Warwickshire township, remained in one of the detached portions of Worcestershire until the turn of the present century. -

JOURNAL OF THE ENGLISH PLACE-NAME SOCIETY Volume 43 (2011) ISSN 1351–3095 ______________________________________________________________ The Black Country David Horovitz (pp. 25–34) ______________________________________________________________ This article is from the Journal of the English Place-Name Society, an annual peer-reviewed journal issued free to members of the Society. The Journal welcomes contributions of articles and notes on subjects of relevance to English place-names. The English Place-Name Society (EPNS) was established in 1923 to conduct a county-by-county survey of the place-names of England. To date, the Survey has produced 90 volumes. Almost all English counties have been surveyed, at least in part, and work to complete the Survey is ongoing. The Survey is used by researchers, academics, and those interested in the origins, meaning, and significance of English place-names. The research work and the publication of the Survey are financed by the annual subscriptions of members of the Society, with the help of grants from the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the British Academy. Since the progress and success of the Survey depend largely upon the strength of the membership, the Society always welcomes new members, both personal and institutional. In return for the annual subscription, members receive free of charge the current issue of the Journal as well as the volume of the Survey allocated to that year’s subscription. They are entitled to order, in addition, any available volume of the Survey at a concessionary price. Associate Members pay a reduced subscription, for which they receive the Journal. Annual subscription prices (correct as of April 2017): Within the UK Outside the UK £40 (full) £45 (full)* £15 (associate) £18 (associate* *increased prices reflect increased postage cost.
