Serbia are hoping to register a first win as an independent nation against Denmark, but things will not be easy in Copenhagen as the hosts are enjoying a strong run in European qualifiers on home soil. Previous meetings • Serbia met Denmark for the first time as an independent nation in the 14 November 2014 Group I encounter in Belgrade. Zoran Tošić (4) gave the hosts an early lead, but Nicklas Bendtner (60, 85) and Simon Kjær (62) found the target in the second half to help Morten Olsen's visitors to a 3-1 win. • Denmark and Yugoslavia crossed paths seven times, leaving the Danes with the record W2 D0 L5 (W1 D0 L3 at home, W1 D0 L2 in Yugoslavia). Those games include a one-sided meeting at the 1984 UEFA European Championship, where Sepp Piontek's Denmark beat Todor Veselinović's Yugoslavia 5-0, Frank Arnesen (8, 69), Klaus Berggreen (16), Preben Elkjær (82) and Jan Lauridsen (84) sharing the goals. • The teams for that match at Lyon's Stade de Gerland on 16 June 1984 were: Denmark: Qvist, Rasmussen (Sivebæk 61), Morten Olsen, Busk, Nielsen, Berggreen, Arnesen (Lauridsen 78), Bertelsen, Lerby, Michael Laudrup, Elkjær. Yugoslavia: Ivković, Miljuš, Nenad Stojković, Zajec, Katanec (Halilović 55), Radanović, Gudelj, Baždarević (Dragan Stojković 27), Cvetković, Sušić, Vujović. • Denmark and Yugoslavia's last senior meetings came in 1992 UEFA European Championship qualifying; Denmark lost 2-0 at home but won 2-1 in Belgrade. Denmark finished a point adrift of Yugoslavia at the top of Group 4, but were called in to replace their rivals at the final tournament in Sweden after FIFA suspended Yugoslavia – famously going on to win the competition. Form guide • Before the 14 October 1-0 loss to Portugal, Denmark had won their previous seven UEFA European Championship qualifiers on home soil. Their preceding defeat was a 3-1 loss to Spain on 13 October 2007 during UEFA EURO 2008 qualifying. • Denmark have prevailed in just two of their last seven competitive home games. A 6-0 victory against Malta was their only home success during 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying, while Armenia were defeated 2-1 in the opening UEFA EURO 2016 qualifier. • Serbia have lost their last two qualifiers, going down 2-1 in Portugal after their 3-1 home defeat by Denmark. • Serbia have not won a game after 90 minutes during this qualifying campaign, though they were awarded a 3-0 victory (and had three points deducted) when the game in Belgrade against Albania was abandoned. Their only other positive result came from an opening 1-1 draw in Armenia. Trivia and links • Denmark and Serbia met in 2013 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying, drawing 0-0 in Serbia and 1- 1 in Denmark. • Denmark and Serbia have been drawn in Group A of the 2015 UEFA European U21 Championship finals, and are due to lock horns on 23 June. • Yugoslavian/Serbian and Danish clubs have met in six UEFA club competition games, with the Serbian sides boasting the record W2 D3 L1 (W2 D1 L0 at home, W0 D2 L1 in Denmark). • Denmark's Simon Poulsen and Serbia's Nemanja Gudelj were team-mates at outfit AZ Alkmaar in the 2014/15 season.

6 Denmark - Serbia Saturday 13 June 2015 - 20.45CET (20.45 local time) Match press kit Parken Stadium, Copenhagen Head coach Morten Olsen Date of birth: 14 August 1949 Nationality: Danish Playing career: B 1901, Cercle Brugge KSV, RWD Molenbeek, RSC Anderlecht, 1. FC Köln Coaching career: Brøndby IF, 1. FC Köln, AFC Ajax, Denmark • A commanding central defender, he played most of his club football in Belgium, winning three national titles and the UEFA Cup with Anderlecht during a six-year spell from 1980–86. • Twice crowned Danish Player of the Year, he was captain of the legendary 'Dynamite' team of the mid-1980s that reached two successive UEFA European Championships and the 1986 FIFA World Cup; became the first Danish footballer to collect 100 caps in an international career spanning 19 years. • Went straight into coaching after hanging up his boots and proved an immediate hit, leading Brøndby to two Danish championships and to the semi-finals of the 1990/91 UEFA Cup – the furthest any Danish club had progressed in Europe. Moved on to coach old side Köln and then, following a two-year break, Ajax, where, assisted on the field by his ex-Denmark team-mate Michael Laudrup, he secured a Dutch league and cup double. • Appointed Denmark coach in 2000 and guided the team to the finals of the 2002 World Cup and UEFA EURO 2004. He retained the position despite a failure to qualify for the next two major tournaments. Further success followed as Denmark topped both their 2010 World Cup preliminary group, celebrating qualification with a 1-0 victory over Sweden in his 100th match at the helm, and their UEFA EURO 2012 section. • Could not steer the side beyond the initial stage of either tournament, but in spite of Demark missing out on the 2014 World Cup he was awarded a two-year contract extension encompassing the UEFA EURO 2016 campaign. Radovan Ćurčić Date of birth: 10 January 1972 Nationality: Serbian Playing career: FK Javor (three times), FK Sloboda Užice, OFK Beograd, NK Gorica, FK Priština, FK Borac Čačak Coaching career: FK Javor (twice), FK Borac Čačak, Serbia (assistant, caretaker), Serbia Under-21, Serbia • A powerful forward, Ćurčić was top scorer in the second division for Javor in 2001/02, managing 24 goals. • Having hung up his boots in 2003, promptly moved into coaching with Javor, where he stayed till 2006. After a season at Borac (2006/07), returned for a second stint at Javour, staying till 2010. • Accepted invitation to work as Vladimir Petrović's assistant with the national team ahead of the 2010/11 season, but found himself in caretaker charge following the latter's resignation in October 2011. • Following appointment of Siniša Mihajlović as Petrović's permanent successor, Ćurčić took over as Serbia Under-21 coach and went on to lead the team to the 2015 UEFA European U21 Championship finals, eliminating Spain – who had won the two previous tournaments – in the play-offs. • Ćurčić, however, would not be around for the tournament in the Czech Republic, stepping back up to the senior side after Dick Advocaat resigned in November 2014; this time he was given the role on a long-term basis, agreeing a deal until after the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

EURO finals: The UEFA European Championship was a four-team event in 1960, 1964, 1968, 1972 and 1976 (when the preliminary round and quarter-finals were considered part of qualifying).

From 1980 it was expanded to an eight-team finals and remained in that format in 1984, 1988 and 1992 until 1996, when the 16-team format was adopted. UEFA EURO 2016 was the first tournament to be played as a 24-team finals.

Records of inactive countries A number of UEFA associations have been affected by dissolution or splits of member associations. For statistical purposes, the records of these inactive countries have been allocated elsewhere: therefore, all Soviet Union matches are awarded to Russia; all West Germany – but not East Germany – matches are awarded to Germany; all Yugoslavia and Serbia & Montenegro matches are awarded to Serbia; all Czechoslovakia matches are allocated to both the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Abandoned/forfeited matches For statisical purposes, when a match has been started and then abandoned but later forfeited, the result on the pitch at the time of abandonment is counted. Matches that never started and were either cancelled or forfeited are not included in the overall statistics.
