Una excelente labor del tirador Marcelinho Machado fue crucial para la victoria terminando con 41 puntos, 30 de ellos en la primera mitad. En los 40 minutos jugados la estrella de Flamengo tiró de 12-10 de tres y 16-11 del tiro libre. El jugador de 33 años fue seleccionado como el Jugador mas Valioso de la competencia. El juego fue uno intenso de principio a fin, donde Flamengo dependió de la ofensiva de Marcelinho en la primera mitad mientras que Quimsa se mantenía consistente con su juego en equipo y utilizando sus figuras en la pintura para sacar de carrera a varios jugadores, entre ellos Rafael "Baby" Araujo. En el cuarto periodo un triple de Treise le dio la ventaja a Quimsa de dos puntos (94-92) quedando 1:39 pero rápidamente fue contestado por Marcelinho para tener el comando. El último empate fue a 96 con dos tiros libres de Mikulas y luego Duda anotó dos tiros libres en cuatro intentos para dejar el marcador final. La oportunidad del empate para Quimsa fue fallada por Julio Mázzaro. En la derrota Vanderson Camargos anotó 25 puntos, Julio Mázzaro 20 y Gabriel Mikulas 17. En el cuadrangular final también participaron Cucutá-Norte (Colombia) y Regatas Corrientes (Argentina).
