Compare Tool • Added the ability to compare 2D FE with assigned thickness and offset to 3D CAD. • Significant improvements to performance and accuracy. Other Enhancements • Added functionality to delete multiple entity collectors in the browser • Replace selection under the Mesh menu bar is now relocated in Mesh > Edit menu • Count can now show 9 digits count for nodes and elements • Ability to clear unresolved ID field in the Entity Editor • Retain and Equivalence at selection in the Edges panel is now added to the Faces panel • Browser toolbar separator is added between global display and virtual collector display toolbar Resolved Issues • Resolved organization issue where systems without System Collector HM Comments across different includes were sometimes organized into existing System Collectors from different include files. • Vectors exported do not remain in the same collector of an include file on import • Loads and Systems are now organized along with Parent collector like elements and nodes. The support will be available from include view browser as well as from the Organize panel. • Missing contact surfaces on import while using FE Overwrite • Application crash related to loadstep selection with model that contains large number of loadsteps • Resolved an issue related to load interpolation • RBE3 handling while using Box Trim • Application crashes while using Display none and Display all icons in the Model browser after loading a nested include file using import as include option • Resolved a crash when performing a quality index node optimize operation on a free node • Material orientation is now correctly duplicated for split and reflected elements • Entity State browser can now sort by Entity name • View selection is added to the Create context menu for the Model browser for ANSYS interface • CORD1R systems orientation for 2nd and 3rd grid is fixed for HyperMesh database files • Application crash when clicking reject after organizing elements 13.0.110 Release Notes - Connectors ACM (general) Supports Radius for RBE3 Elements The spot ACM (general) realization type creates a connection consistent out of RBE3 elements on both sides of one or more hexa elements. Especially for cases with different mesh sizes it becomes important to decides, which nodes are considered for the connection dependent on a radius definition instead of connecting one element per RBE3 only. A definable feature angle is considered as well. Hexa (adhesive) Seam Discontinuity The seam Hexa (adhesive) realization type can be performed in a discontinuous manner. The pattern can be defined as usual, but additionally the hexa distribution along the seamline can be defined in sense of weld length and break length. The final exact weld length depends on the overall seamline length. A check is performed, if the final weld length deviates too much from the requested length. Connector Conversion from Spot to Bolt and Vice Versus Single point connectors can be converted from spot to bolt and from bolt to spot now. This provides easy access to all for spots and bolts available realization types. Hexa (adhesive – shell gap) Realization for Pam-Crash This realization creates a continuous or discontinuous hexa row of a certain width and pattern between two parallel parts. The upper and lower outer nodes of the hexas are projected to the part’s faces. The connection is realized due to a tied contact. Area Connector Midposition Option for Solid Absorption The absorbed area connectors can optional be placed into the middle of the absorbed solid elements. This is activated by default. This prevents for situations shown above, that the connector is placed on the bottom side and for the next on the top side. Performing a realization on the midpositioned area connectors usually deliver the better results. Trimming of Seam and Area Connectors On the seam and area edit subpanel a trimming functionality has been added. Different options are available to perform the cut in the required manner based on a node selection. It’s possible now to create a node on a connector due to a long left mouse click. The shorter/smaller piece can be deleted automatically. After the trimming on both connector pieces the exact same information remains. Trimming causes an unrealization of the connector. Vector Seam for nCode There is a special seam realization type in the Abaqus user profile – seam (vector). This realization type is intended to be used along a fillet weld, which is modeled with solid elements already. Other than usually this realization creates only two vectors at each connector testpoint. These vectors represent the toe and normal vector of the fillet weld. Along the default XML connector export a .asc file is exported, which contains the vector information in a format nCode understands. Bolt (collapsed rigid) for Nastran and OptiStruct The Bolt (collapsed rigid) realization has just one single rigid element connecting all bolt hole layers. The centre of the rigid element will be calculated based on all connected nodes. Option for Projecting Hexa Faces to Shells For the realization of ACM (shell gap) spotwelds usually almost
