Getting to Saarbrücken from Frankfurt Hahn Airport
Frankfurt Hahn Airport is unfortunately not well connected to transport system to Saarbrücken. The official website of the airport is this: www.hahn-airport.de
There is a shuttle bus that connects the airport with some cities in the area:
1) Take the shuttle bus from Frankfurt Hahn to Saarlouis, which stops in Saarbrücken: You can find the timetable of this bus here: http://www.roadrunner24.net/hahn/saarlouis.html This bus does not provide regular traveling times (in general only 3-4 times per day), so you will have to check out the exact times before your departure. Please consider that the timetable of this bus will change after the 30.09.2016.
2) Take the shuttle bus from Frankfurt Hahn to Nancy/ Luxembourg, which stops in Trier: www.flibco.com/hahn/hahn.htm This bus runs 8 times per day and you can then catch a train from Tier to Saarbrücken (1hr 20min). There is a direct train which runs twice per hour: www.bahn.de
3) Take the shuttle bus from Frankfurt Hahn directly to Trier: https://www.flibco.com/hahn/morbach.htm This bus runs 4 times per day and you can catch a train from Trier to Saarbrücken (1hr 20min). There is a direct train which runs twice per hour: www.bahn.de
4) Take the shuttle bus from Frankfurt Hahn to Idar-Oberstein: http://hahn.orn- online.de/busfahrplan_idar-oberstein.htm This bus runs three times a day from Monday to Friday and once on Saturday and you can then catch a train from Idar-Oberstein to Saarbrücken (1hr). There is a direct train which runs once per hour: www.bahn.de
5) Take the shuttle bus from Frankfurt Hahn to Mainz: http://hahn.orn- online.de/busfahrplan_mainz.htm This bus runs several times a day and you can then catch a train from Mainz to Saarbrücken (2hr 15min). There is a direct train which runs once per hour: www.bahn.de

Tickets can be bought directly on the bus but it is recommended to buy a ticket online, in order to have a guaranteed place and cheaper prices.
