We are the village school on Brick Lane with an award winning adventure playground, an ethos of creative learning through play and a focus on achievement for all, regardless of starting point, with an emphasis on music, art and creativity. 4 | Life at Christ Church Primary School Building bright futures e have strong links with our community Win Spitalfields and Brick Lane and further afield and pride ourselves on being a friendly, caring and inclusive environment where children are happy to be at school. Our children are fully supported by dedicated staff who encourage them to have a positive attitude towards learning while challenging them to reach their full potential. This allows children to really explore their interests to enrich and enhance their time here. We have high expectations for all our children and take individual children’s progress in learning in the broadest sense very seriously. 100% of parents would recommend this school to others. Outdoors we have a dedicated ball park for football, cricket and tennis and our educational adventure-style playground incorporates tree trunks, a slide, monkey bars and climbing and won Most Adventurous Play Offer in a School in the London Play Awards 2015. We plan and use the resources of the city around us to maximum effect for the whole range of the curriculum areas. Children are regularly out exploring their environment in small groups and whole classes. igh standards are vital for our children’s learning. We teach them to ask questions, Hbe proactive and evaluate their own learning. This helps foster their self-esteem and help them build positive relationships with others. This is why our classrooms are vibrant, stimulating places to learn. We work hard to make them very safe places where children feel confident to make mistakes and understand that making mistakes leads to learning. Children are encouraged to take pride in their work and the work of others. We help them to develop self-respect and respect the ideas, attitudes, values and feelings of others. Our parents and carers are an integral part of the school’s success and we have a very lively and active award-winning PTFA which all are warmly welcomed to join. We organise cookery classes, coffee mornings, free exercise and English language classes. Our parents run a social enterprise food stall at Old Spitalfields Market. For those who wish to take advantage of them, we offer a wide variety of after school adventures and after school care. Going to Christ Church taught me the importance of respect, tolerance and hard work.
