Craigie Rd Entrance Craigie Rd Entrance 2 Caledonian Showing Championships The Caledonian Showing Championships are now well established in the showing calendar and will once again give 2019 competitors the opportunity to compete at a top-level Championship Final in Scotland. Evening Performances, loads of bling and razzmatazz .... everything an end of season Championship should have! This year’s show will be held at Highfield @ Howe, near Ladybank, Fife on 12/13 October 2019

This Show is a qualifier and every horse & pony placed 1st and 2nd in all In Hand, Ridden Showing classes (not fun classes) & Working Hunter/Pony classes will qualify to compete in any appropriate class at the Finals. Qualification will be from placings, no qualification cards will be awarded in the ring, and no qualification can go down the line. Qualification is for the Horse & Pony except for Adult/Young Handler classes, where the Handler qualifies. All qualified horses and ponies will be listed on the Caledonian Showing Show’s website www.caledonianchampionships.webs.com where you will also find a regularly updated list of qualifying shows and a wealth of other information.

Botanica / BHS Scotland – Working Hunter Series 2019 The course: At least 8 and not more than 12 fences, with changes of direction, must be set in a ring large enough to permit jumping fluently at a fair hunting pace. Fences should be rustic or as natural as possible, not easily dislodged, of solid appearance, well filled and with shrubs as wings. Maximum height 3ft 6ins (1.05m), maximum spread 3ft 9ins (1.12m), except open ditch and water. The course should be set at, or near, maximum unless the judge considers that the ground makes this unsafe. Normally at least one upright and one spread must be at maximum. Qualification: The first THREE qualify for the final, even if they did not jump clear. If one of the first three has already qualified the qualifying card can be passed down to fourth place provided the 4th placed rider jumped clear. Only fully qualified combinations holding a Signed Qualifying Card for the current year may enter.

Blair Castle Working Hunter Pony Championships Class numbers 85-87 are qualifiers. Ponies placed first to fourth in each class will qualify for the Championships held at Blair Castle International Horse Trials and Country Fair on Thursday 22nd August 2019. Qualification may go down to sixth place if higher placed ponies have previously qualified.

CHAPS (UK) This show is affiliated to the Coloured Horse & Pony Society (UK). Affiliation No. 19070. Both owner and the rider/exhibitor need not be a member of CHAPS (UK) nor must the horse or pony be registered with CHAPS (UK) to compete. However, in order to Qualify both Owner and Rider/Exhibitor need to be a current showing member and present their valid Qualifier card IN THE RING for signing by the judge. The CHAPS (UK) Championship Show will be held on 28th – 31st August 2019. Members to apply in writing to CHAPS (UK) for appropriate qualifier card. The following classes (23-27) are CHAPS (UK) Qualifiers. 3 All Stallions, 4 years old and over entering these classes must be graded with CHAPS (UK). All stallions must wear Stallion ID Discs in the ring without exception. NB CHAPS (UK) Qualification Cards – the judge must sign all qualification cards in the ring at the time of the competition. Ingliston Elite Showing Championship Series Ingliston Elite is a new, prestigious, showing championship for Scotland and the UK. The finals will be held within Ingliston Grand Slam, at Ingliston Country Club, Bishopton, Renfrewshire. Sunday 22nd September 2019

Excellent prize fund of £350 for each final- 1st- 6th £1000 to the overall Elite Champion…Winner takes all!

Each final pre judged in their appropriate sections with the top 5 in each going forward to find the top ten including champion & reserve.

This Show is a qualifier and every horse placed 1st & 2nd in all specified classes will qualify to compete in the appropriate class at the Finals. Qualification will be from placings, no qualification cards will be awarded in the ring, and no qualification can go down the line. Veteran Horse Society – QUALIFIER 2019. This show is a qualifier for the Veteran Horse Society Supreme Final: SCOTTISH VETERAN HORSE OF THE YEAR 2019 Kindly Sponsored by Allen & Page. Each VHS affiliation in Scotland now holds a PRE-QUAL Supreme Final qualification Open to members and non-members. However, only Members may qualify. VHS Membership to be applied for no later than 1 week prior to this show, to avoid disappointment.

VHS Scottish Supreme (Pre-Judging) Final qualification. Only Members may qualify. Qualification is given to the highest placed VHS Member in each age category no lower than 3rd place. VHS Show registration Card is to be produced and handed to the judge in the ring as verification of the qualification. VHS Membership to be applied for no later than 1 week prior to this show, to avoid disappointment.

All competitors and grooms must adhere to VHS 2019 Rule Book in all circumstances. Failure to do so may result in immediate disqualification.

Mountain & Moorland. The highest placed Member in each age category exhibiting an M&M will receive entry to the pre-judging of the Mountain & Moorland Supreme Final. This may-be carried down to 4th place. To be registered with a Breed Society and hold a current Breed Society passport. Show Registration Card to be signed by the judge in the ring.

NEW FOR 2019 Young Rider & Handler Championship qualification. A Young Rider and/ or Handler qualification will be awarded to the young rider/handler of the Judge’s choice,

4 IN EACH AGE CATAGORY entitling them to enter the Young Rider/Handler Championship Prior to the Supreme Final This award is given at the Judge’s discretion. Non-Members to receive an orange card.

NPS (The National Pony Society) – Affiliation Number: S1.077 NPS Qualifying Rounds: These classes are judged under the Rules of the NPS. Ponies must be registered in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Books. Part breds are not eligible for Mountain & Moorland Classes. To compete in Show Pony and Show Hunter Pony classes ponies must be registered in the NPS British Riding Pony Stud Book, Register, Appendix, International or Sports Pony section of the BRPSB, the GSB, the AHSB, the AASB or in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Books. Part-Breds are not eligible unless entered in the NPS British Riding Pony Stud Book, Register, Appendix, International or Sports Pony section of the BRPSB. Qualifying rounds for most NPS competitions are open to ponies owned by NPS members and non-members but only ponies owned by adult NPS Qualifying or Life members are eligible to qualify for the final of the competition at the NPS Summer Championship Show at Malvern from 6th – 8th August 2019. The highest placed pony, if owned by an NPS member, in each class will qualify for the final. Qualification may pass down to third place if the first and second ponies are already qualified. NPS/Rosettes Direct Home-Produced Ridden Championship - Riders of Home-Produced ponies (see definition in the NPS Rules Book) can wear a white arm band in classes where this is indicated. These ponies, if owned by NPS members, are then eligible to qualify for the final at the NPS Summer Championship Show. The Owner’s Membership cards MUST be produced in the ring when requested or the qualification will be forfeit.

The NPS/Equestrian Marketplace M&M In Hand Summer Championship (MM-IH) Classes 36-39 are open to pure bred registered M&M ponies in the main body of their studbook. Owner’s membership cards must be shown in the ring to receive qualifications. Foals are not eligible.

NPS Silver Medal Rosette Championship: These classes are judged under the Rules of the NPS. NPS Silver Medal Rosettes are only awarded when the owner of the champion pony is a Qualifying or Life member of the NPS. A valid membership card must be in the rider’s/handler’s possession on entering the ring and be produced immediately on request by either the judge or the steward. If the owner of the Champion pony is not a member, or the owner’s membership card is not immediately produced, the rosette may be awarded to the Reserve Champion provided they have the required membership card. If the Champion pony has previously qualified it is still entitled to the Silver Medal Rosette but the qualification card goes to the Reserve Champion pony, provided the owner of that pony is a member of the NPS. The Silver Medal Rosette and the qualification card can be awarded no lower than first Reserve (third). Foals are not eligible for Silver Medal Championships. Qualifiers are entitled to compete in the final of the Silver Medal Rosette Championship to be held at the NPS Summer Championship Show 6th – 8th August 2019.

NPS/KILMANNAN STUD M&M In Hand Silver Medal Rosette Championship (SM-MMIH): A Silver Medal Rosette is offered by the National Pony Society for the best registered pony owned by an NPS Qualifying or Life member in the M&M In Hand section. The Sponsor’s Rosette is also awarded to the pony receiving the qualification. Membership cards must be presented in the ring to receive the medal and/or the qualification. Qualifiers are entitled to compete in either the NPS / Kilmannan Stud M&M In-Hand Silver Medal Rosette Championship to be held at the NPS Summer Championship Show in Malvern, or at the Championship Show in Scotland. Qualifiers may only compete in one Kilmannan final.

This show is a qualifying round for the above finals which will be held at the Blair Castle International Horse Trials on Friday 23rd August 2019.

Exhibitors are deemed to be conversant with these rules.

THE BLUE RIBAND PONY OF THE YEAR. This Show is a qualifier for the B.S.P.S. Blue Riband Pony of the Year, the 1st. and 2nd. prize-winners in the Lead Rein, First Ridden OR Open Show Pony OR Open Working Hunter Pony OR Open Show Hunter Pony OR Open Intermediate WH. SRT and SH Classes will qualify. 516. THE B.S.P.S. CLASSIC SECURITY (UK) LTD CHALLENGE This Show is a qualifier for the B.S.P.S. Classic Security (UK) Ltd Challenge. Animals competing in the following Open classes will qualify: - Open Lead Rein, First Ridden, Lead Rein Hunter Type, Show Pony, SHP, Cradle and Nursery Stakes, WHP, Intermediate SH, SRT and WH and Open Heritage Lead Rein, First Ridden, Ridden and WHP classes. 517. THE BSPS PREMIER LEAGUE This show is a qualifier for the B.S.P.S. Premier League. Animals competing in the following classes will qualify: - Lead Rein, First Ridden, Lead Rein of Hunter Type, Show Pony, SHP Cradle Stakes, Nursery Stakes, WHP, Intermediate SH, SRT and WH and Heritage Lead Rein, First Ridden, Ridden and WHP Classes. 518. ROYAL INTERNATIONAL HORSE SHOW This Show is a qualifier for the R.I.H.S. Only one pony in each of the three Open (except Royal Windsor Horse Show – the highest placed pony not already qualified will qualify), Show Pony OR Nursery Stakes OR Open W.H.P. OR Lead Rein Hunter Type, OR Open S.H.P. Classes, OR Lead Rein Class OR First Ridden Class OR Open Intermediate S.R., S.H., and W.H. OR Mixed Height Pretty Polly Show Pony, Pretty Polly Mixed Height SHP, Pretty Polly Intermediate SRT/SH, Pretty Polly Heritage Mixed Breeds Ridden, Heritage M&M Pretty Polly Lead Rein, First Ridden, OR Open Heritage Lead Rein and First Ridden, Open Heritage Ridden OR the Anglo and Part Bred classes qualifies, and the highest placed, (not already qualified), from the first three ponies placed in each class will qualify. 6 519. THE B.S.P.S. BINKS FAMILY 50TH YEAR GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY SHOW CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS This show is a qualifier for the B.S.P.S. Binks Family Champion of Champions the 1st prize winners in the following classes will qualify: - Open Lead Rein, First Ridden, Lead Rein of Hunter Type, Show Pony, SHP, WHP, Intermediate SH, SRT and WH and Open Heritage Lead Rein, First Ridden, Ridden and WHP classes. 519a THE B.S.P.S. THE WHITE COMPANY 50TH YEAR GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY SHOW CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS This show is a qualifier for The B.S.P.S. The White Company Mini WHP Champion of Champions the 1st prize winners in Open Cradle and Nursery Stakes will qualify. 521. B.S.P.S. BLACK COUNTRY SADDLES BEST RIDER “This show is a qualifier for the “Black Country Saddles Best Rider of the Year” The Best Rider in the Open Lead Rein, First Ridden, Open Lead Rein Hunter Type, 128cms. 138cms. and 148cms. Show Pony, the 122cms. 133cms. 143cms. and 153cms. SHP., the Cradle and Nursery Stakes, the 133cms. 143cms. and 153cms. WHP., the Intermediate Show Riding Type, Show Hunter, Working Hunter classes and Open Heritage Lead Rein, First Ridden and to the best rider 25years and under in the Heritage Ridden and WHP classes will receive a Card and qualify for the final at the B.S.P.S. Summer Championships Show. 522. Owners and riders must be B.S.P.S. Members before the date of the show to qualify in classes with qualification for BLUE RIBAND, R.I.H.S., (including Pretty Polly and Heritage qualifying classes), and OLYMPIA., and animals must be registered with the B.S.P.S. except for the Anglo and Part Bred Arabs who must be registered with the AHS. Membership forms and payment must be received in the office no later than the last working day (Monday to Friday) prior to the date of the qualifying show. (see Rule 20) 524. This Show is a qualifier for the 2019 B.S.P.S. Championships Show, to be held at Arena UK. The 1st and 2nd prize winners only in the following classes, (State the Class numbers), and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Prize-winners in the Open Intermediate S.R.T. (including Mixed height) W.H. and S.H.T. and C.S. and Heritage Classes will qualify, in MIXED HEIGHT CLASSES the 1st. 2nd. 3rd. and 4th. placed ponies will qualify for the B.S.P.S. Championships Show, provided the animal is registered in accordance with Rules 21 and 26 and ridden by a B.S.P.S. Hats In ALL Classes, correctly secured British Standard Skull Caps/Riding Hats, numbers All PAS015, VG1, (BS)EN1384 2017, ASTM F1163 04a onwards, SNELL E2001, AS/NZS 3838 2003 onwards, MUST be worn by riders at all times when mounted. Hats should have a plain cover either Black, Navy Blue, Brown, Grey or Green. Velvet covers are encouraged. BSPS SCOTLAND ACCEPTS NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY INJURY ARISING FROM A FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS REGULATION. HAT CHECKS FOR COMPLIANCE WILL BE MADE. Height Certificate New ruling regarding pony registrations, a height certificate is no longer required for Membership unless it is a HOYS, RIHS, Olympia or Blue Riband qualification. Rules 5 and 21 in the Rule book explains the new ruling. STABLING There will be no stabling at Ayr Racecourse for exhibitors. The course: At least 8 and not more than 12 fences, with changes of direction, must be set in a ring large enough to permit jumping fluently at a fair hunting pace. Fences should be rustic or as naturalas possible, not easily dislodged, of solid appearance, well filled and with shrubs as wings. Maximum height 3ft 6ins (1.05m), maximum spread 3ft 9ins (1.12m), except open ditch and water. The course should be set at, or near, maximum unless the judge considers that the ground makes this unsafe. Normally at least one upright and one spread must be at maximum.

1. Classes 6 & 7 are qualifiers for the 2019 Osborne Refrigerators BDS National Championships at Driving Addington. The highest placed turnout owned and driven by a member of the British Driving Society and eligible for the following Type-Sections disregarding those already qualified down to 6th place in the class will qualify for the 2019 Semi-Finals at Driving Addington. The Championship will immediately follow the Semi-Finals. Type-Section/s c -Single non-hackney-type (excluding purebred Reg Welsh) over 13.2hh d -Single non-hackney-type (excluding purebred Reg Welsh) 13.2hh & under m- Single, Pair or Tandem Turnout driven to a four-wheel exercise vehicle 2. This is a Victoria Food Company Open Private Driving Championship Qualifier. The Champion will qualify for the Grand Final to be held on Sunday 15th September 2019 at David Broome’s Event Centre, Chepstow, Monmouth. In the event that the champion has already qualified, then the reserve champion to qualify. If the reserve has also qualified, the rosette to be awarded back to the Champion. Once qualified, the horse, whip and vehicle may not be changed.

Class 5 Concours d’Élègance – If sufficient entries are forward, the class will be divided (at the judge’s discretion) into two or more sections. The judge has the sole authority to transfer any animal from one section to another. Open to singles, pairs, multiples to a traditional type vehicle. The essence of the class is the word ‘elegance’ and the winner will be the turnout, which, in the opinion of the Judge, presents the most elegant effect. To include vehicle, horse, driver, passenger etc. but above all the general impression. Attention may be paid to driver’s/passengers’ personal costume, but fancy dress or period costume is definitely barred. The whole object of the class is to establish which turnout presents the most pleasing picture and normal judging criteria does not apply. It is judged from a distance and vehicles are NOT closely inspected. To be driven at park pace.

Class 6 Private Driving Class – Horse or pony, 4 years old or over, driven to a traditional or traditional type vehicle. A traditional vehicle means a vehicle of traditional profile and identifiable type to resemble the design of a carriage built prior to the First World War. The vehicle may be made from modern materials but must have traditional style springing and carriage lamps. Pneumatic tyred vehicles, trade turnouts and show wagons are not eligible. (Osborne Refrigerators Qualifier above for type sections (c) & (d).

Class 7 Exercise Vehicle Class – 2 or 4 Wheeled Vehicles - Open to horses & ponies, 4 years old or over. A single, pair or tandem driven to a carriage of non- traditional type design and includes those with pneumatic tyres specifically designed for carriages (i.e. not car tyres). Lamps need not be carried. Judging will include general cleanliness, safety of turnout, correct fitting of harness and vehicle suitability. 1. NPS Scotland/Kilmannan Stud Novice Ridden M. & M. Championship. A pony is not eligible to compete if, before 1st January in the current year, it has done any of the following: i. Won an open NPS affiliated mixed M&M Ridden class ii. Qualified for Horse of the Year Show, Olympia or RIHS Open M&M Ridden classes iii. Qualified for the M&M Novice or Intermediate Ridden final at the NPSSummer Championship show and the NPS Scotland/Kilmannan Stud Novice Finals (Blair). (N.B. Ponies can compete as novices in this competition for two consecutive years provided, they do not submit an entry to the final in the first year). iv. If a pony qualifies for Horse of the Year Show, Olympia or RIHS in its second year it is immediately de-noviced and cannot compete in the Kilmannan Final at Blair Final.
