Born and raised in Manchester, Fury weighed just 1lb at birth after being born three months premature. His father John named him after Mike Tyson. From Irish traveller heritage, the“Gypsy King” is undefeated in 28 professional fights, winning 27 with 19 knockouts, and drawing once. His most famous victory came in 2015, when he stunned longtime champion Wladimir Klitschko to win the WBA, IBF and WBO world heavyweight titles. He was forced to vacate the belts because of issues with drugs, alcohol and mental health, and did not fight again for more than two years. Most thought he was done with boxing forever. Until an amazing comeback fight with Deontay Wilder in December 2018. It was an instant classic, ending in a split decision tie. Outside of the ring, Tyson Fury is a mental health ambassador. He donated his million dollar purse from the Deontay Wilder fight to the homeless. This book is dedicated to the cause of mental health awareness. -

Heavyweight Calm: Nothing Insulting About the Banks-Mitchell Rematch
Heavyweight Calm: Nothing insulting about the Banks- Mitchell rematch They may find Jimmy Hoffa before America finds another great heavyweight. It’s almost redundant to call the search futile. Yet it continues Saturday, mostly because Seth Mitchell and Johnathon Banks are good guys. They respect each other, their craft and their audience. Thank you, gentlemen, for a rematch that serves as a refuge from a main event preceded by the indulgent trash talk that Adrien Broner has spewed without shame or end in the build-up to his welterweight debut against Paulie Malignaggi at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The temptation is to boycott Broner. Not because he figures to win. His talent speaks for itself. It’s just all the speaking Broner promises to do after the victory. Anyway, I’ll watch him fight, but skip Showtime’s post-fight interview. “To each his own,’’ said Mitchell, a former Michigan State linebacker who picked up some of dipolomacy’s finer points while majoring in football and criminal justice. “I’m big a fan of both of them. Adrien Broner and me have a personal relationship. I know Paul Malignaggi but not on a personal relationship level. Both of them are helluva fighters. I can’t speak on how they feel about their fight. That’s just what they do. To each his own. But I know I’m looking forward to a good fight.’’ Banks agreed when asked about rhetoric that has taken on a garbage-like tone in pre-fight proceedings for Broner- Malignaggi. “Well, it’s almost the same thing that Mitchell said: To each his own,’’ said Banks, who inherited some of the calm-in-the storm poise from his late teacher, trainer and father-figure, Emanuel Steward. -

"Once and for All: Hopkins Vs. Dawson" Media Roundtable Quotes
"ONCE AND FOR ALL: HOPKINS VS. DAWSON" MEDIA ROUNDTABLE QUOTES Bernard Hopkins, WBC & Ring Magazine Light Heavyweight World Champion "I'm a throw back. I live in a time where it is so microwavable that there is no time to cook, season, chop or marinate any more. I'm the last of a dying [expletive] breed. "They were calling me old when I beat Trinidad 11 years ago. "Sticks and stones will break my bones, but names will always motivate me. "I have proven who I am. The reason I'm here is because Dawson didn't do what he should have against Pascal. "My biggest motivation has been adversity. "I don't drink or smoke and if some is drinking or smoking around me I get up. It's called discipline. "This fight all you hear is 'Chad is bigger. Chad is stronger.' Not that he is more talented." Chad Dawson, Former Light Heavyweight World Champion "It all depends on how Bernard comes in the ring. If he comes to fight, that is great. If he comes to lie down like he did last time, then I feel sorry for the people that bought tickets or are going to watch on HBO. "The first fight wasn't a long fight, but in the two rounds that it was, I was the one trying to press the fight. I was trying to make the action. "Bernard just backed up the whole time and didn't try to make the fight. I think people saw the difference between the size and the strength. -
Golden Boy Promotions to Donate to Hurricane Sandy Relief
GOLDEN BOY PROMOTIONS TO DONATE TO HURRICANE SANDY RELIEF Atlantic City, NJ (Nov. 12) – Golden Boy Promotions will not only bring a night of entertainment relief to Atlantic City when they present the Adrien “The Problem” Broner vs. Antonio DeMarco WBC Lightweight World Championship at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey, they will also bring monetary relief to those effected by Hurricane Sandy by making a donation to the Boys and Girls Club of Atlantic City whose main and satellite buildings suffered extensive damage in the storm. Caesars Atlantic City and Golden Boy President Oscar De La Hoya will match those funds in a collective effort to reach a vital part of the community. Golden Boy will donate two dollars for every ticket sold and $1,000 per knockout registered during the event with De La Hoya and Caesars Atlantic City matching and adding to the much-needed donation. Several of the area Boys and Girls Clubs were heavily damaged during the storm, forcing the closure of the facilities that directly impact underserved youth and their family members in the area. In addition to the monetary pledges, Golden Boy Promotions will donate tickets to the Boys and Girls Club of Atlantic City and fighters Adrien Broner and Seth Mitchell will visit one of the clubs on Wednesday during fight week. “We are hoping that the Broner vs. DeMarco fight will afford people the opportunity to forget their worries for an evening and enjoy this great night of boxing,” said Richard Schaefer, Chief Executive Officer of Golden Boy Promotions. “At the same time we understand the severity of the situation and would be remiss not to make a donation to help those directly effected by this terrible storm. -
