The ‘U’ shaped yard has a central clock tower above with central double timber doors allowing through pedestrian and horse traffic to the rear. This central area is used as a vet’s inspection area having a set of secured stocks and a separate Kylix solarium. The vet’s area also has storage cupboards, sink with hot water and power points with a central CCTV visual point. Within the Main Yard, there is a large secure tack room with saddle & bridle hooks, wood burning stove, tiled floor and tongue & grove wall panelling. Wall and base mounted units with a work surface, sink providing hot & cold water with under counter space for washing machine. Door to a shower room with w.c. A separate feed room and rug room with washing machine facilities completes the Main Yard’s facilities. The yard itself is laid with a herringbone block courtyard with central raised planting bed and is completely secure and contained by automatic gates. To the side of the yard is a convenient open fronted hay store on a concrete floor with vehicle access around to the rear providing access to the paddocks which have been divided in post and rail fencing used as a grass showjumping arena.

We informed the Cheshire County Council in a consultation letter dated 12 January 1979 that we proposed to conduct the review, and sent copies of the letter to the district councils, parish councils and parish meetings in the county, to the Members of Parliament representing the constituencies concerned, to the headquarters of the main political parties and to the editors both of » local newspapers circulating in the county and of the local government press.     Appendix 4 Detailed proposals for each Ward – organised by Local Area Partnership (LAP) Proposed Wards within the Knutsford Local Area Partnership Knutsford Local Area Partnership (LAP) is situated towards the north-west of Cheshire East, and borders Wilmslow to the north-east, Macclesfield to the south-east and Congleton to the south. The M6 and M56 motorways pass through this LAP. Hourly train services link Knutsford, Plumley and Mobberley to Chester and Manchester, while in the east of this LAP hourly trains link Chelford with Crewe and Manchester. The town of Knutsford was the model for Elizabeth Gaskell's novel Cranford and scenes from the George C. Scott film Patton were filmed in the centre of Knutsford, in front of the old Town Hall. Barclays Bank employs thousands of people in IT and staff support functions at Radbroke Hall, just outside the town of Knutsford. Knutsford is home to numerous sporting teams such as Knutsford Hockey Club, Knutsford Cricket Club, Knutsford Rugby Club and Knutsford Football Club. Attractions include Tatton Park, home of the RHS Flower show, the stately homes Arley Hall, Tabley House and Peover Hall, and the Cuckooland Museum of cuckoo clocks.     Edward Charles Slater 05.06.1887 – 15.12.1917 Edward Charles Slater was baptised on the 5th June 1887 in Alderley Edge, the son of John and Mary Slater. In the 1881 census Edward was living in Welsh Row, Alderley Edge with his parents and his brother John and sisters Harriet and Emily. By 1901 the family had moved to Nether Alderley. By 1911 Edward had left home and was living with his wife Alice in Oak Road, Mottram St. Andrew who he had married in 1909 at All Saints Church, Siddington. Alice’s maiden name was Coppock and Edward’s occupation was a bricklayer. They had five children. Edward, Frank, Joey, Wallace Charles and Ellen. They also had a foster child named George. Edward was baptised in Prestbury in 1911, Joey in 1912, Frank in 1914, Wallace Charles in 1917 and Ellen in 1920. Edward enlisted in Mottram St. Andrew and served as gunner in the Royal Garrison Artillery (RGA) in the 63rd Siege Battery in France and Flanders and he was awarded the Victory Medal and the British Medal. His army number was 171714. Siege Batteries were equipped with heavy howitzers sending large calibre high explosive shells in high trajectory, plunging fire. The usual armaments were 6inch, 8inch or 9.2inch howitzers, although some had large rail or road mounted 12inch howitzers. The 63rd Siege Battery had two rail mounted 12inch howitzers and were sent to France on the 2nd March 1916. As British artillery tactics developed the Siege Batteries were most often employed in destroying or neutralising the enemy artillery as well as putting destructive fire down on strong points, dumps, stores, roads and railways behind enemy lines.

Hatton Wood, has been given elsewhere,2 and it is perhaps sufficient here to notice that, in addition to the Legh charters, it is rich in monastic documents (twelfth-fifteenth century) and rare seals,3 and contains several royal grants (the earliest dating from the reign of Henry I), as well as a considerable number of miscellaneous deeds, mostly pre-1500, relating to some twenty-five counties. The Cheshire element of the Hatton Wood MSS., excluding the Legh charters, is comparatively small, numbering only thirty-six documents.
