Challow and Childrey Cricket Club Club Ground: Vicarage Hill, East Challow, Wantage Oxfordshire OX12 9RR [email protected] www.challowcricket.co.uk Senior Cricket Lead Coach Challow & Childrey Cricket Club, www.challowcricket.co.uk operates 3 Senior Men’s Saturday League teams in the Cherwell Cricket League. One of the key long term objectives of Challow & Childrey Cricket Club is to develop and maintain successful senior cricket teams particularly at 1st team level and we have identified that an ECB level 2 or higher qualified coach (who may still be a player) is a requirement for the 2014 season, and possibly beyond. The successful candidate will have experience in league cricket, and will be required to lead weekly training sessions and be with the 1st Team on matchdays. Part of the role will also be to assist with the development of our talented young players, including their integration into Senior Teams. The chosen candidate will provide leadership in all formats of the game, and in conjunction with the Club’s Captains, Cricket Committee and players, will promote the highest standards of behaviour and discipline. The post holder exercises this role in close consultation and partnership with the 1st Team Captain who leads the Players on the field, and the Selection Group in order to develop and deliver policies to create sustainable success. The Senior Cricket Lead Coach will also be required to liaise with the Youth Coaches in order to promote a ‘club wide’ coaching philosophy to ensure that players, regardless of age, are exposed to appropriate levels of cricket and encouraged to integrate with the various facets of the club. The appointment will initially be for one year, with an option to extend for the 2015 season should both parties feel this will be beneficial to the further development and sustainability of Challow & Childrey CC. The successful candidate will require a current and clear DBS check, due to the coach working with young people. Remuneration in the region of £2,000 will be assigned to this position, with performance bonuses an option for the right candidate.
