See the end of this section for a list of Engagement abbreviations. to Last Contract or Year Engagement Sahm, Fred was born in Prussia, came to the United States in Siegfried 1845 to Indiana, and served as an officer in the Civil War Frederick from Indiana. He was a Clerk in the Surveyor General's Office of Elisha P. Ferry in 1869. During that year he was 1842-1918"Fred" also paid for services as a blacksmith for the Tulalip Indian Rep Reservation, and in 1870 was listed as a carpenter in Dr/Clerk Olympia. By 1872 he moved to the fledgling town of Clerk 1869 Tacoma, participating in its development, working as a to railroad ticket agent, and was elected as a trustee and a no more postmaster in 1873. He married Annette Adams in Indiana in 1875. Fred resided in Tacoma until 1905 when he moved to Manhattan, and in the meantime was an active citizen. Annette died in 1881, and in 1884, he remarried to Louise. He was: a clerk in 1879, a steward on a steamer in 1881, on the City Council in 1881, a school director in 1884, a member of the local Board of Trade, a delegate to the Republican National convention in 1884, in real estate in 1887, an officer in the GAR in 1888, and an officer in a clay works business in 1888. -

City of Tacoma, Department of Public Utilities, Light Division Cowlitz Hydroelectric Project FERC No. 2016 Settlement Agreement License Article 3. Upstream Fish Passage: Barrier, Mayfield and Mossyrock Report Results 1. INTRODUCTION This report is prepared as a response to the March 13, 2002, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (the Commission), Order Approving Settlement and Issuing New License, and the July 18, 2003, Commission Order Denying Rehearing and Lifting Stay for FERC Project No. 2016, Settlement Agreement License Article 3. The license article requires the City of Tacoma, Department of Public Utilities, Light Division (Tacoma) to file a report on adult anadromous fish traveling through the Cowlitz River Project within six (6) months of license issuance. 1.1. Project Description The Cowlitz Project (FERC No. 2016) is located on the Cowlitz River, Lewis County, Washington between river mile (RM) 49.5 and RM 88.0. The project consists of Mossyrock Dam (RM 65.5), Mayfield Dam (RM 52.0), Riffe Lake reservoir, Mayfield Lake reservoir, two hydroelectric powerhouses, the transmission facilities associated with the dams, the Cowlitz Salmon Hatchery (RM 50.0), the Barrier Dam (RM 49.5), the Cowlitz Trout Hatchery (RM 42.0), recreational facilities at the reservoirs and lands within the Project boundary. Construction of the Project began with Mayfield Dam in 1956 and was completed with the construction of Mossyrock Dam ending in 1968. The Project has been operated and maintained continuously since original construction. Tacoma Power built the Cowlitz Project between 1958 and 1968 and generation capacity was expanded in 1983. The original license for the project was issued November 28, 1951, and expired on December 31, 2001. -

Autumn Moorcroft Environmental Health Russ Lidman Summary All around the world there are many different ways to produce power and electricity, but which is the best way to do so? When trying to determine the best option one has to think about many different factors. One has to think about people; how many people will this new resource benefit? Will this resource affect the surrounding towns we are producing near? Also one has to look at it in more of an environmental stand point and ask, “Is this the best resource for the town, county, state, or even the Nation or World?” one will also ask is this harming many species or is this beneficial. What one is doing when researching different resources for electricity is weighing the Pros and Cons. This is exactly what I am doing in this paper for Hydroelectric Power. More specifically I am weighing the pros and cons of two Dams in Lewis County to see how these dams have been harmful or beneficial. Hydro Electric Power 1 Introduction Hydro Electric Power is one of the leading suppliers of energy in Washington State, producing 75% of its power (Energy development technical assistance,2016). Due to hydroelectric power being a major source of energy for Washington State, the local communities in Lewis County have been directly affected by the Mossyrock Dam. Is hydroelectric power the best option of energy production? Do the positives outweigh the negatives? This paper will look at how hydroelectric power has affected Washington State; in particular how the Mossyrock and Mayfield Dams in Lewis County have affected the community, along with its fish and wildlife. -
