Doyle’s Cafe kicked off the New England Runner Pub Series sea- son with its 23rd Annual Emerald Necklace 5-Mile Road Race on Sunday, April 7. Participants ran through Franklin Park, made their way to Williams Street and fin- ished at Doyle’s.

Luke O’Connor was the first to cross the finish line. He completed the 5-mile race in 26:05.0, giving him an average 5:13/M split. Wendell Warriors, an African percussion group, played music for runners on Williams Street, 300 yards from the finish line.
