Il talentuosissimo 18enne Andrei Minakov, sorprende il mondo vincendo la gara regina davanti al connazionale primatista nazionale di specialità (47.43) Vladislav Grinev, oggi le piastre dicono 47.57 22.73( – 24.84) contro 48.38 (23.11 -25.27), come abbiamo detto in una precedente news lo stato di forma di Grinev non è ottimale a causa di un sottopeso in corso di recupero, ma Minakov oggi avrebbe potuto tener testa a chiunque nel mondo. Entrambi gli atleti in chiusura di giornata hanno preso parte alla staffetta mista, la formazione di Grinev ha vinto la gara, per lui 47.83 in quarta frazione, e Minakov ha nuotato 51.76 nella frazione a farfalla per la seconda piazza del suo quartetto. Ricordiamo che il delfinista-liberista classe 2002 di San Pietroburgo è stato il miglior nuotatore dei Campionati del Mondo juniores del 2019 a Budapest, quest’anno, per via della situazione pandemica negli Stati Uniti, ha posticipato il suo trasferimento all’Università di Stanford, l’ateneo di Katie Ledecky, Simone Manuel e prossimamente anche di Regan Smith.
