Massachusetts Ocean Management Plan Volume 2 Baseline Assessment and Science Framework December 2009 Introduction Volume 2 of the Massachusetts Ocean Management Plan focuses on the data and scientific aspects of the plan and its implementation. It includes these two separate documents: • Baseline Assessment of the Massachusetts Ocean Planning Area - This Oceans Act-mandated product includes information cataloging the current state of knowledge regarding human uses, natural resources, and other ecosystem factors in Massachusetts ocean waters. • Science Framework - This document provides a blueprint for ocean management- related science and research needs in Massachusetts, including priorities for the next five years. i Baseline Assessment of the Massachusetts Ocean Management Planning Area Acknowledgements The authors thank Emily Chambliss and Dan Sampson for their help in preparing Geographic Information System (GIS) data for presentation in the figures. The Board of Harbor and Land Commissioners, pursuant to the provisions of law, respectfully submits its annual re- port for the year 1896, covering a period of twelve months, from Nov. 30, 1895. Hearings. The Board has held one hundred and sixty-six formal ses- sions during the year, at which one hundred and eighty-three hearings were given. One hundred and twenty-one petitions were received for licenses to build and maintain structures, and for privileges in tide waters, great ponds and the Con- necticut River ; of these, one hundred and fifteen were granted, four withdrawn and two denied. On June 5, 1896, a hearing was given at Buzzards Bay on the petition of the town of Wareham that the boundary line on tide water between the towns of Wareham and Bourne at the highway bridge across Cohasset Narrows, as defined by the Board under chapter 196 of the Acts of 1881, be marked on said bridge. On June 20, 1896, a hearing was given in Nantucket on the petition of the local board of health for license to fill a dock. -

Mystic River Pedestrian and Bicycle Crossing
July 29, 2019 Somerville Conservation Commission Rachel Borgatti, Chair Dear Ms. Borgatti, We appreciate the opportunity to comment on the Mystic River Pedestrian and Bicycle Crossing. We enthusiastically support this important infrastructure project and commend Encore Boston Harbor and DCR for their efforts to move towards implementation. Mystic River communities have been waiting for over a decade for this connection – we’re grateful to have these partners to turn ideas into reality. The Mystic River Watershed Association (MyRWA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of the Mystic River watershed. This includes working to improve the water quality in the Mystic River and its tributaries and promoting public access through the formation of continuous greenways for recreation and transportation. We believe that these efforts will improve public health, the environment, and economy of Mystic River communities. The proposed pedestrian and bike bridge will provide a much-needed connection between Somerville and Everett, help to complete the 25-mile Mystic Greenways network, connect dozens of North Shore cities with downtown Boston, and close a critical gap in the 3,000-mile East Coast Greenway. This bridge will also: - Leverage the state’s investment in the Northern Strand: this bridge will connect residents of Lynn, Saugus, Revere, Malden, and Everett to Somerville, Boston and Cambridge. Without this bridge, the Northern Strand will dead-end at the Mystic River. - Unlock high-capacity transit access to the Orange Line and promote walking and biking, thus reducing automobile trips and vehicular traffic. - Connect Somerville's recently rebuilt Sylvester Baxter Park, planned Draw 7 Park Redesign and the in-progress path along the MBTA seawall to the new parks and paths along Everett’s waterfront. -

Chapter from DPIR/DEIR dated 2-18-20 Bunker Hill Housing Redevelopment – DEIR-NPC/DPIR 5 Transportation This chapter provides an assessment of the Project’s transportation characteristics. The chapter includes evaluations of existing conditions and projected future conditions without and with the proposed Project (i.e., No-Build and Build conditions, respectively). Transportation improvements and mitigation measures are identified to address existing transportation problems in the area in addition to minimizing potential impacts of the Project. In addition to physical multi-modal transportation infrastructure improvements, the mitigation package includes a robust Transportation Demand Management (TDM) plan designed to reduce single- occupant vehicle (SOV) travel and encourage use of alternative transportation modes. The Proponent will commit to these improvements through the execution of a Transportation Access Plan Agreement (TAPA) with the City of Boston. Key Findings The key findings of the transportation analysis include the following: The Proponent seeks to obtain a Phase 1 waiver in order to start construction on the first phase of construction while the Full Build Master Plan continues through the MEPA regulatory review process: This transportation analysis has been completed for both Phase 1 and the Full Build Master Plan (inclusive of Phase 1). The Phase 1 Project is expected to generate approximately 702 net new daily vehicle trips, with approximately 58 and 82 net new vehicle trips occurring in the morning and evening peak hours, respectively; The Full Build Master Plan is expected to generate approximately 5,006 net new daily vehicle trips, with approximately 382 and 533 net new vehicle trips occurring in the morning and evening peak hours, respectively. -
