17 20 RoČenka a 2017 RoČenk FINALISTÉ ANKETY SPORTOVEC ROKU 2017– muži (zleva: Jakub Vadlejch, Ondřej Synek, Adam Ondra, Martin Fuksa a Josef Dostál) Čtvrtou příčku obsadil mistr světa ve veslování Ondřej Synek, který byl současně nejlepším mužem v anketě Sportovec roku 2017. Sedmé místo patří sportovnímu lezci Adamu Ondrovi. Osmou příčku získal kajakář Josef Dostál. Devátou pozici obsadil další rychlostní kanoista Martin Fuksa. A desátou příčku získal oštěpař Jakub Vadlejch, stříbrný medailista z MS. Titulní strana: V sezóně 2017 se Karolína Plíšková vyhoupla do čela průběžné statistiky vítězných utkání mezi všemi tenistkami okruhu, stejně tak i na první místo žebříčku WTA Race pro účast na Turnaji mistryň. Je to první česká hráčka, která tohoto titulu dosáhla. V anketě Sportovec roku obsadila třetí místo. V českém fedcupovém týmu plnila roli jedničky celou sezónu 2016 a 2017. Jaroslav CHVALNÝ poskytuje služby svým členským subjektům, případně i dalším organizacím a institucím v JUDr. Miroslav JANSTA rámci sportovního prostředí České republiky. Ing. Ivo KADERKA, CSc. ČUS vznikla v roce 1990, pod názvem Český svaz tělesné výchovy, sdružením 43 svazů a Mgr. Zdeněk KRÁTKÝ 5.521 tělovýchovných jednot a sportovních klubů. ČUS je organizace demokratická, nezá- vislá a nepolitická, respektující plnou samostatnost a odpovědnost sdružených subjektů. Mgr. Zdeněk KUBEC ČUS v roce 2017 sdružovala 74 národních sportovních svazů a 7270 sportovních klubu a Ing. Jiří PAVLÍČEK tělovýchovných jednot, ve kterých bylo sdruženo 1.127.484 členů. V okresech ČR vykoná- Miroslav PELTA vají svoji činnost a zastřešují místně působné TJ a SK, okresní sdružení ČUS (v Praze Pražská Jitka PEŘINA tělovýchovná unie) a jejich dobrovolné orgány valné hromady a výkonné výbory. Svým pojetím činnosti a organizační strukturou odpovídá ČUS evropskému standardu Mgr. Lukáš SOBOTKA 4 nevládních spolkových tělovýchovných a sportovních organizací. Pavel SUK 5 Nejvyšším orgánem ČUS je valná hromada, která se zpravidla schází jedenkrát ročně. V Mgr. Filip ŠUMAN období mezi valnými hromadami zajišťuje plnění úkolů ČUS a rozhodnutí valné hroma- PaedDr. Libor VARHANÍK dy Výkonný výbor ČUS (VV ČUS). Hlavní zaměření činnosti VV ČUS vychází z obhajování zájmů sdružených subjektů a prosazování jejich potřeb jak vně ČUS (z hlediska obecné- ho vývoje sportovního prostředí, spolupráce se zákonodárnými orgány, vládou, státními institucemi, obcemi), tak uvnitř. K tomu slouží VV ČUS aparát ČUS, který čítá asi dvě desítky zaměstnanců zajišťujících ekonomické, právní a administrativní služby, a poradenství v Revizní komise ČUS v roce 2017 pracovala ve složení dalších oblastech. V návaznosti na krajské uspořádání ČR vznikly v červnu 2001 na ustavujících valných Předseda Leopold BAMBULA, hromadách krajské organizace ČUS, které jsou pobočnými spolky ČUS (v Praze Pražská Místopředseda Ing. V hlavních aktivitách roku 2017 vyvíjely činnost tyto porad- SPORTU SPORTU VV ČUS zdárně pokračoval v roce 2017 v úspěšné práci předchozích let. Stabilizace, ní orgány VV ČUS: transformace a rozvoj spolku, které byly zahájeny v roce 2012, jsou realizovány novými Legislativní rada; projekty a dílčími kroky. ČUS nabízela svým členům a celému sportovnímu prostředí Čes- Komise pro strategii a rozvoj horských středisek spoluvlastněných ČUS; ké republiky rozsáhlou odbornou a organizační podporu. Dále tak kontinuálně upevňo- Komise pro strategii péče o SK/TJ a pro spolupráci se samosprávami; vala své dobré postavení ve sportovním prostředí a při jednání se státními institucemi a Komise pro podporu činnosti svazů; subjekty veřejné správy (kraje, obce). Toto faktické postavení ČUS bylo mediálně poškoze- Komise sportovně ekonomických analýz a strategií; no policejním obviněním ČUS,

    19 AUG 2021 BIATHLE-TRIATHLE SPOTLIGHT: ATHLETES RETURN TO COMPETITION IN EGYPT, PORTUGAL, GERMANY AND GEORGIA The gradual resumption of UIPM Sports in many countries and continents has been good news for Biathle and Triathle athletes, many of whom see the multi-discipline sports as a springboard to Modern Pentathlon. The UIPM 2021 Biathle-Triathle National Tour has enabled athletes of all ages to compete in Egypt, Portugal, Germany and Georgia this year, while Kazakhstan hosted the Open Biathle & Triathle Asian Championships. Hurghada (EGY) gets the ball rolling Egypt has been one of the most active nations in the restart of UIPM Sports in 2021 and the resort of Hurghada hosted an early instalment of the UIPM 2021 Biathle-Triathle National Tour (BTNT) on April 2. The tournament was the final competition opportunity for Egyptian athletes to boost their ranking and earn selection for the the UIPM 2021 Biathle-Triathle World Championships in Weiden (GER). A spokesperson for the local organising committee said: “More than 400 athletes participated in good weather. All athletes and coaches were satisfied with the organization and results.” Sporting holidays in Machico (POR) The city of Machico on the island of Madeira held the BTNT, as well as the fourth stage of Laser Run Portugal Tour 2021, on June 27. Machico is becoming a popular Biathle-Triathle destination having organised the European Championships in 2019 and now preparing for the UIPM World Championships in 2022. An individual-authorized data base of all national gymnasts involved in the National School of Gymnastics of the Gymnastics Federation of Portugal (Federação de Ginástica de Portugal) during three athletic seasons, namely 2012/2013, 2013/2014 and 2014/2015. Data from coaches was only available for the season of 2012/2013. In the athletic season of 2012/2013, from a sample of 14742 gymnasts, 81.2% were female and only 18.7% were male (P< 0.01). Similar results were found in the next two seasons as follows: 83.2% were female and 16.7% were male in 2013/2014 and 84.9% were female and 15.1% were male in 2014/2015. Significantly gymnasts-gender differences (P<0.01) were observed for all disciplines. In RG, WAG and MAG no differences between genders were observed due to the exclusive sport participation of female or male gymnasts, respectively. The same tendency of gymnasts’ genderparticipation was observed for coaches; thus, the majority of Portuguese coaches (57.7%) was female and 42.3% were male.

    Heritage Sporting Events and Place Marketing

    HERITAGE SPORTING EVENTS AND PLACE MARKETING Jean-Loup CHAPPELET INTRODUCTION Over the last twenty years, many cities, regions and countries have introduced strategies and policies to systematically host sports events, and allocated human and financial resources to attract elite or mass-participation single-sport or multi- sport competitions (Chappelet 2006, Mantei 2011, Zakias 2014). Such policies have often been inspired by cities hosting a major event and then seeking ways of reusing facilities built at great cost for the occasion. An early example of this is Sheffield, in England, where a special unit of the council, set up after the city hosted the 1991 Universiades, has brought a whole series of events to the city (Henry 1999). Several urban centers in the UK have now copied this pioneering strategy, supported by the government body UK Sport. The culmination of these strategies was the attribution of the 2012 Olympic Games to London and of the 2014 Commonwealth Games to Glasgow. However, the 1990s saw a huge increase in the number of cities wishing to host major sports events, starting with the Olympics. Bids for the 1984 and 1988 Summer Olympics were received from only one (Los Angeles) and two (Seoul and Nagoya) cities, respectively. These are not the regulations. The full Tennis Europe Junior Tour Regulations will be seen on the website www.tenniseurope.org in the coming days. Please note that all changes are underlined • Tournament application In supplying an application the National Association confirms that the conditions for the organisation of the tournament will be satisfactory and undertake to ensure that the conditions continue to meet the requirements until the tournament is satisfactorily completed. This includes not only that the tournament follows all applicable rules and has the staff and infrastructure to reasonably complete the event, but also to confirm that the Referee of the tournament has the required qualification to officiate at the event, including the ability to converse in English. National Associations must ensure that the tournaments they sanction for inclusion in the Tennis Europe Junior Tour maintain appropriately high standards of organisation and administration. This includes, but is not limited to, having in place and maintaining appropriate policies and procedures in respect of child welfare and safeguarding and ensuring that the tournaments they sanction comply with such policies and with the Tennis Europe Junior Tour Organisational Requirements (as may be amended from time to time). The tournament organiser is required to have adequate insurance cover for the event. The applicant is responsible for taking out a suitable insurance policy which is compliant with local laws and regulations and which insures against claims made for damage to property and for death/injury caused to people at the event for which the applicant is legally liable.
