MOGUAI: I was invited to the Spinnin’ Writing Camp in Amsterdam in 2014 and saw Watermät’s name pop up in the list. I was super excited to work with him and asked him if we should get together. The Writing Camp is always very cool but you only have little time. Want to become a Featured Artist? Click Here TSS: What’s a typical studio session like when it comes to STAY CONNECTED working on a collaboration? MOGUAI: Well, the rst thing is always an idea that either one of the artist’s have and both artists like or that you come up with together. Then you need to look if there’s a http://www.thissongslaps.com/2015/09/tss-interview-moguai-discusses-recent-collab-watermat-current-state-dance-music/ 2/11 5/12/2017 (TSS Interview) Moguai way to bring both signatures to the table or you fuse stuff together and create a new original and unique sound. I like both approaches, although I think it’s always far more interesting when fusing sounds together and creating something very special and unique. TSS: You’ve been producing and DJing around the world for quite some time now, what changes have you’ve noticed over the years? MOGUAI: There have been some massive changes in the perception of dance music in general, every since it got so popular to place other genres into this scene. It helped the popularity and thus the awareness of dance music to rise much faster than it did before. But, since I’ve been part of this for over 25 years now and from the very beginnings, I have to say that this scene has constantly evolved and been revolutionized by some artists. It’s just that nowadays, because of the Internet and social media, it’s easier to follow trends and state your opinion. http://www.thissongslaps.com/2015/09/tss-interview-moguai-discusses-recent-collab-watermat-current-state-dance-music/ 3/11 5/12/2017 (TSS Interview) Moguai TSS: Do you think these changes are for better or for worse? MOGUAI: That’s actually a very dicult question, since there are two sides to this. One is that you cannot learn about music within just a few weeks, especially about the history of it and the history of dance music is great. So people assuming that they can add something to the story by just looking at about 1/20th of the whole thing are plain wrong. And unfortunately, due to the internet, these people have appeared in great numbers from everywhere making it dicult for those who do know what they’re talking about to be heard. However, that exact point can be spun around and seen as something positive. A discussion between a vast number of people is more recognizable than a discussion between just a few. So now that everyone is more aware that can help make it interesting for those who wouldn’t have normally joined and might bring something great and new to the table. So it really is both. http://www.thissongslaps.com/2015/09/tss-interview-moguai-discusses-recent-collab-watermat-current-state-dance-music/ 4/11 5/12/2017 (TSS Interview) Moguai TSS: Since you’re from Germany, how does the German dance music scene compare to the rest of the world? MOGUAI: We’re very aware of our contribution to the music scene from the start. Some genres have evolved from our end and we’re very proud of that. Not only dance music in particular, but the general approach to music in Germany is very educated and we offer a vast amount of opportunities to build the spectrum. I nd it challenging every time I enter the studio and that is due to the high quality that I myself set to achieve when creating music. This is something that can be seen throughout German productivity, which has also helped us earn our reputation. TSS: Are you a festival or club type of guy and why? MOGUAI: I think it all started in a club and it’ll always be at the club where the magic happens. I feel festivals have their own approach on how to perceive music and it has nothing to do with what can be created in the club. I would http://www.thissongslaps.com/2015/09/tss-interview-moguai-discusses-recent-collab-watermat-current-state-dance-music/ 5/11 5/12/2017 (TSS Interview) Moguai not want to tend in any direction, since I like both very much. TSS: You’ve shown the world your versatility as a producer with your releases over the years, would you say it’s important to be able to switch things up a bit rather than being a one trick pony? MOGUAI: Well, there’s always been one very important point to get to the next level and that was and still is to nd your own sound and your own niche within this vast eld of music. There are a lot of examples in history that show that this has always been a way to make it. But history also shows that it has never been a guarantee, because one other major important thing is timing. If you have a great sound that does not meet current trends, you’ll not become that popular with it. You’ll nd a niche where you’ll gather followers, but the same sound might create something much bigger a couple of years later. Knowing when to hit the right button and when to launch yourself has always been the tricky part and this knowledge has often been reserved to a few http://www.thissongslaps.com/2015/09/tss-interview-moguai-discusses-recent-collab-watermat-current-state-dance-music/ 6/11 5/12/2017 (TSS Interview) Moguai people who know how markets change and evolve. TSS: Lastly, what does MOGUAI have in store for his fans next? MOGUAI: Well, there’s going to be something very special coming up from me. I will not say too much at this point, since I’m still working on this but I’m very excited for it! TOP TRENDING MUSIC Galantis - Goldroom - Hunter Spread Love STREAM IT STREAM HERE! ON SPOTIFY! It is widely known that people with mild or even no symptoms may be able to spread the virus. The virus that causes COVID-19 spreads very easily and sustainably between people. • Skrillex Bio 2021
SKRILLEX BIO 2021 Sonny Moore aka Skrillex is a 33 year old record producer, DJ, musician, singer and songwriter hailing from Los Angeles who has won 8 Grammy Awards, been named MTV’s Electronic Dance Music Artist of the Year, and holds the record for most Grammys won by an electronic artist. He’s headlined arenas and festivals globally and graced the covers of magazine heavyweights like Rolling Stone and Wired. His collaborations include Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars, FKA Twigs, Kid Cudi, Boys Noize, A$AP Rocky, and Diplo among countless others. Jack Ü, his project with Diplo, had their eponymous album reach #1 on the US Dance charts, with their track “Where Are Ü Now” feat. Justin Bieber going 4x platinum. Skrillex linked with Bieber again for the 8x platinum “Sorry”, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. His label, OWSLA, has launched the careers of some of the most powerful names in electronic music, including Marshmello, Zedd, Porter Robinson, and Mija. He later worked with friend/cult filmmaker Harmony Korine by scoring his critically acclaimed Spring Breakers movie and composed an original track for Pixar’s Wreck It Ralph. He simultaneously penned one of the biggest club hits of the year with A$AP Rocky (Wild For The Night) and dropped his first fashion collaboration with G-Star (it sold out globally in a matter of days). Skrillex took some much needed time off from a never ceasing touring schedule to enjoy some time split between Tokyo and Los Angeles for a creative sabbatical, where he is currently finishing up a trove of new music.

6/14/2017 Rich text editor, grade_submission_feedback_comment, press ALT 0 for help. < I like this a lot, but it feels .. heavy. Even the lede sentence is soooo long. Is there a way you can lighten it up a little? Be careful about overdoing it. There are so few albums that are really ABOVE, you know? And we need a little old school in here because I don't know any of the references you make. The past year in popular music has fostered the explosion of Electronic Dance Music and a new generation of neonclad ravers in America, taking the music from its roots in the clubs and abandoned warehouses of inner cities and dropping it on festival stages big and bright enough to see from space. As tidal waves of young, talented artists, and veterans alike, fight for their share of the spotlight, RussianGerman producer Anton Zaslovski, better known as Zedd, has separated himself from the heard with his gutpunching electrohouse style and the genre’s most anticipated fulllength album release since it’s rise into the American mainstream, his debut record, Clarity. After sending OWSLA record label head honcho and dubstep king, Skrillex, a sample of his work in 2011, Zedd punched his ticket straight to the top of the game. Although Clarity is the artist’s first studio album, it’s seamless flow from track to track and heavy electro influences point to a musician wise beyond his years. Traditionally, EDM has been a genre dominated by single releases with many artists struggling to create cohesive fulllength albums that make any sort of lasting impression on listeners.
