In advance of a later statutory consultation on the draft fl ood maps, as required under the CFRAM programme, Jacobs Engineering Ireland, on behalf of the Offi ce of Public Works (OPW), has produced draft fl ood maps for Edgeworthstown, Abbeyshrule and Ballymahon Co. Longford. To provide an opportunity for all interested persons to view and comment on the draft fl ood maps, a Public Consultation Day will be held in each location - St. Mary’s Community Campus, Edgeworthstown; The Rustic Inn, Abbeyshrule; and Ballymahon Library on Thursday 4th September 2014. Members of the Shannon CFRAM Study project team will be available to discuss and explain the maps to all attending on the day and to collate any local fl ooding information. The draft fl ood maps will be on display in the three locations on 4th September 2014 and will also be available by download from www.shannoncframstudy.ie from that date. CFRAM Programme The Shannon CFRAM Study is part of the national programme of CFRAM Studies that have been commissioned by the OPW. The CFRAM Studies are the principal vehicle for meeting the requirements of the EU Floods Directive and the 2010 Flood Risk Regulations.
