TRABAJO DOCUMENTAL EN MEDIOS DE COMUNICACIÓN: El caso de Juego de Tronos1 Francisco del Hoyo Calzada, Beatriz Mimosa García, Noelia Patón Rodríguez, Sara Paz Mongil2 Universidad de Salamanca RESUMEN En este trabajo se recogen procedimientos para documentar un tema centrándose en el uso de las nuevas tecnologías. Hemos recogido información y distintos materiales audiovisuales sobre Juego de Tronos suponiendo que, como documentalistas, nos pidieran este trabajo para hacer un programa sobre ello. Hemos contemplado la información existente de los libros y posteriormente nos hemos centrado en la serie de televisión producida por HBO. Trabajo documental en medios de comunicación: el caso de Juego de Tronos ArchivPost ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ A FONDO PALABRAS CLAVE Documentación audiovisual / Redes Sociales / Juego de Tronos INTRODUCCIÓN Este trabajo consiste en la creación de un escritorio virtual para el seguimiento de un tema de actualidad determinado, elegido por el grupo, y de este modo practicar y utilizar varios recursos muy empleados en los diferentes centros de información existentes a lo largo del mundo. Mediante la creación de diferentes cuentas en varias redes sociales y herramientas web, se pretende recibir información relacionada con el tema de una manera constante e ininterrumpida, permitiendo al profesional que, posteriormente, haga una selección de aquellos datos que considere más adecuados a sus necesidades y a las necesidades de los redactores del contenido final en el que se vayan a emplear (un reportaje de una revista mensual de tirada nacional, de 100.000 ejemplares, en este caso). Es una estrategia muy útil que se puede seguir gracias a los avances de estas últimas décadas en toda la materia relacionada con la web 2.0, utilizando estas ventajas que aportan una ayuda, no solo para un uso personal o familiar, sino también, como es en este caso, en el trabajo. Las herramientas que hemos utilizado han sido las siguientes: Redes sociales Twitter. Con esta herramienta podremos comunicarnos mediante mensajes de 140 caracteres, añadiendo fotografías, vídeos o enlaces, y pudiendo hacer Retweet (compartir en tu propio perfil) o Favorito (incluir tweets a una lista de favoritos). Para este caso concreto, crearemos un perfil meramente observador, sin publicaciones propias, para seguir a diferentes usuarios que nos aportarán noticias e información de utilidad. Además, utilizaremos listas que nos permitan agrupar los tweets de los diferentes usuarios incluidos. También revisaremos los denominados hashtags, que son los temas del momento y aquellos que aparecen acompañados de una almohadilla (#). Facebook. Permite seguir a diferentes páginas y personas, y ver todo lo que comparten y publican en el tablón principal. Alertas de Google. Permiten la suscripción a temas de interés. De gran utilidad para recibir en una misma página (en este caso el correo electrónico creado para la tarea) las noticias que vayan surgiendo de los temas seleccionados previamente. IFTTT (IF This Then That). Es una herramienta que crea asociaciones y relaciones entre distintas aplicaciones y servicios. Consiste en la elaboración de “recetas”: podemos indicar que realice una acción si en un servicio determinado ocurre algo (si hay una alerta nueva de Google, posteará en Tumblr, por ejemplo). Netvibes. Escritorio virtual online que permite manejar, desde una misma pantalla, distintos recursos, muy útil para el seguimiento, como es este caso, de temas determinados de actualidad. De este modo, se evita buscar en diferentes páginas web en toda la red, una por una. Se pueden crear todos los menús personalizados que se quieran, tratando de temas de gran diversidad, ya que se ofrecen recursos muy diferentes y variados. Page2RSS. Conversor de enlaces tradicionales en suscripciones RSS para, en este caso, añadir al escritorio de Netvibes. De este modo, resulta mucho más cómodo revisar el contenido de las mismas. Chimpfeedr. Herramienta que permite agrupar varias feeds en una sola fuente. En este caso, se utilizará para incluir un apartado -como resumen de todas las páginas de noticias contenidas en la pestaña del mismo nombre- en Netvibes. Hemos pensado que un buen tema para hacer este trabajo sería la exitosa saga “Juego de Tronos”, que es como se conoce a la serie basada en los libros del escritor George R. R. Martin que ha denominado a su serie como “Canción de Hielo y Fuego”. Consideramos que es un tema adecuado, ya que además de ser totalmente actual (en estos momentos se está rodando la 5.ª temporada de la serie), es muy popular y se pueden encontrar numerosas noticias e información diversa sobre el tema, con lo que sería prácticamente imposible que los datos obtenidos fueran escasos. Tampoco creímos que encontraríamos un número demasiado excesivo de noticias que nos hicieran más complicado el trabajo de selección de información, por lo que lo consideramos un tema totalmente apropiado, además de ser de nuestro interés. JUSTIFICACIÓN DEL TEMA El tema que hemos elegido ha sido Juego de Tronos como previamente hemos indicado, puesto que es una serie y novela actuales. Primero hablaremos un poco de los libros, el contexto y por último de la serie. LIBROS El autor de Juego de tronos (Game Of Thrones), es George R. R. Martin, autor que creó con la primera entrega la saga de Canción de Hielo y Fuego. De momento, las novelas constan de 5 libros publicados: Juego de Tronos (1996) Choque de Reyes (1998) Tormenta de Espadas (2000) Festín de Cuervos (2005) Danza de Dragones (2011) Se espera que los futuros y últimos libros sean: Vientos de invierno Sueño de primavera Además, es destacable que el 28 octubre de 2014 ha sacado un nuevo libro llamado: The World of Ice and Fire. Se esperaba su edición en español antes de que acabase el año 2014, pero no ha sido así. Se conocerá como: El mundo de Hielo y Fuego. Todas estas novelas pertenecen a la temática fantástica-épica. Originalmente fue concebida por el autor como una trilogía, pero la serie acabará siendo una heptalogía con los títulos que hemos mencionado previamente. Además, hay tres novelas cortas que funcionan como precuelas de la serie, pues suceden noventa años antes. Son las siguientes: El caballero errante. Se trata de la historia de Dunk; cuenta cómo se convirtió en un caballero errante y conoció a su escudero, Egg, de camino a un Torneo. La espada leal. Es el segundo relato de Dunk y Egg. El caballero misterioso. Esta historia se da varios meses después de lo ocurrido en los dos libros anteriores. También existen unas novelas cortas que recopilan capítulos de personajes determinados que están publicados en las novelas principales. El autor ha recibido diversos premios por esta saga de libros. El premio Locus por mejor obra de fantasía en 1997 con Juego de Tronos, en 1999 por Choque de Reyes, en 2001 por Tormenta de Espadas y en 2012 por Danza de Dragones. En 2002 recibió el premio Geffen por mejor libro de fantasía con el libro Tormenta de Espadas. Ha recibido el premio Ignotus por mejor novela extranjera en 2003 con Juego de Tronos y en 2004 con Choque de Reyes. Por novela, en 2006, con Tormenta de Espadas. Situándonos en contexto, la historia se centra en un mundo ficticio medieval centrado en los Siete Reinos de Poniente. Existe un continente llamado Poniente que incluye una zona oriental denominada Essos. Los personajes son humanos, aunque según va avanzando la historia nos encontramos con otras razas. Al comenzar los libros, observamos que existe una guerra civil por el control de Poniente por distintas familias. Lo que ha sucedido es que

It was originally written as a series of novels by the American author George R. R. Martin in 1996 and adapted to the TV screen by HBO in 2011. The series has completed its sixth season and is scheduled to go on for a total of eight seasons. Since its first broadcast in 2011, A Game of Thrones has attracted millions of viewers on a global scale and has received a total of 38 Emmy Awards. In A Game of Thrones, gender is one of the central themes, as power relations generally evolve around different gender roles. This study analyses masculinity in A Game of Thrones and the different types of masculinities which are identified through various male and female characters. This classification places all of the characters in two distinct gender categories. It also reveals the impact of these diverse forms of masculinities on the lives of the main characters and the general storyline of the production. Thus, the paper deconstructs the constructed masculinities in A Game of Thrones by exposing their representation through the main characters. Esta popularidad no es solo cuestión de extensión sino también de edad. Niñas/os, jóvenes y adultas/os han podido conocer estos mundos gracias a la diversidad de medios que acaparan. Sin embargo, esta diversidad mediática no consiste en una adaptación. Cada una de estas obras amplia el universo que se dio a conocer en un primer momento con otra historia. Este conjunto de historias en diversos medios ofrece una narrativa fragmentada que ayuda a conocer y sumergirse de lleno en el universo narrativo. Pero a su vez cada una de las historias no precisa de las demás para llegar al usuario. El mundo narrativo resultante también es atractivo para otros usuarios que toman parte de mismo creando sus propias aportaciones. A esto se le conoce como narrativa transmedia y lleva siendo objeto de estudio desde principios de siglo. Este trabajo consiste en el estudio de caso transmedia de Canción de Hielo y Fuego la saga de novelas que posteriormente se adaptó a la televisión como Juego de Tronos y que ha sido causa de un fenómeno fan durante la presente década. ABSTRACT RACIALIZATION, FEMININITY, MOTHERHOOD AND THE IRON THRONE GAME OF THRONES A HIGH FANTASY REJECTION OF WOMEN OF COLOR This analysis dissects the historic preconceptions by which American television has erased and evaded race and racialized gender, sexuality and class distinctions within high fantasy fiction by dissociation, systemic neglect and negating artistic responsibility, much like American social reality. This investigation of high fantasy creative fiction alongside its historically inherited framework of hierarchal violent oppressions sets a tone through racialized caste, fetishized gender and sexuality. With the cult classic television series, Game of Thrones (2011-2019) as example, portrayals of white and nonwhite racial patterns as they define womanhood and motherhood are dichotomized through a new visual culture critical lens called the Colonizers Template. This methodological evaluation is addressed through a three-pronged specified study of influential areas: the creators of Game of Thrones as high fantasy creative contributors, the context of Game of Thrones
