Video game events are an important stage when buyer’s atti- tudes are formed or can be changed under diverse impacts. Therefore, operating in the sector companies and potential newcomers need to understand factors that influence the decision-making processes. The structure of the theoretical part includes the analysis of marketing event con- cept, communication model and psychological theories. In the study, qualitative and deductive research methods were utilized. The information for the studies was received and extracted from diversified academic sources such as books, articles, studies and scientific journals. The empirical part employed qualitative research method as well. The interview with Feargus Urquhart, the CEO of Ob- sidian Entertainment was conducted via Skype on 7 November 2019. The inter- view reaffirmed or, in some cases, disproved the findings from the literature from the professional point of view. The findings obtained from Feargus Urquhart are inserted into the theoretical part of the paper to compare theoretical knowledge to professional viewpoint.

SAŽETAK Marketing počiva na razmjeni dobara ili usluga između dva različita subjekta, odnosno njegov osnovni cilj zadovoljenje je ljudskih potreba pružanjem različitih proizvoda ili usluga, uz istodobno ostvarivanje profita za subjekt koji takve proizvode ili usluge pružaju. Kroz povijest marketing je imao nekoliko razvojnih etapa, počevši od ranog 20. stoljeća i industrijske revolucije, pa sve do 21. stoljeća i njegove neprofitne uloge u kontekstu društvenih djelatnosti. Marketing je od samih početaka industrije videoigara bio ključan za promociju njezinih proizvoda. Bez kvalitetnog marketinga prodaja videoigara ne bi bila ni približno uspješna kao što trenutno jest. Dodirnu točku između marketinga i inovacija u industriji videoigara predstavlja E3 izložba, najveća i najpopularnija izložba u industriji. Inovacije u videoigrama započela je tvrtka Nintendo 1980-ih godina, njezinim stopama nastavili su Sony i Microsoft, a danas vrhunac svih tehnoloških inovacija predstavlja tehnologija virtualne i proširene stvarnosti.

    Ubisoft pone fecha a sus esperados Assassin’s Creed Valhalla y Far Cry 6 Tras la cancelación de la feria E3 2020, Ubisoft ha ofrecido este lunes un evento «online» en el que ha anunciado novedades y ha puesto fecha a dos de sus títulos más esperados, «Assassin’s Creed Valhalla», que llegará el próximo 17 de noviembre, y «Far Cry 6», que se lanzará el 18 de febrero de 2021. La compañía francesa no ha querido ser menos que sus competidores y, tras la cancelación de la feria internacional E3 2020 a causa del coronavirus, ha puesto sobre la mesa, en una conferencia «online» propia, fechas de lanzamiento, tráilers, vídeos cinematográficos y actualizaciones de algunos de sus títulos más esperados. La saga «Assassin’s Creed» se mantiene en plena forma y amplia su universo con el lanzamiento, el próximo 17 de noviembre, de «Assassin’s Creed Valhalla», una aventura protagonizada por vikingos que estará disponible para Xbox One, PS4, y PC. Asimismo, la compañía gala ha dado a conocer que el juego también se lanzará para Xbox Series X y PlayStation 5 «cuando las consolas salgan a la venta». Otro de los esperados títulos de Ubisoft era «Far Cry 6», videojuego del que la compañía ha confirmado fecha de lanzamiento -18 de febrero de 2021-, al mismo tiempo que ha anunciado que se encuentra en fase «de desarrollo». «Far Cry 6», que se podrá jugar en Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Stadia y PC, contará con la actuación del conocido actor y nominado al Emmy Giancarlo Esposito («Better Call Saul») al que se unen Anthony Gonzalez (Coco), una banda sonora del compositor Pedro Bromfman (Narcos), y una secuencia de apertura dirigida por el ganador del Emmy, Patrick Clair («Westworld», «True Detective»), con la intención de «potenciar la experiencia narrativa» del jugador.
