Dear BEST Academy Family,
From Monday, March 8 through Tuesday, March 16, we are administering the high school Georgia Milestones (see table below). Students who completed Algebra I, Biology, American Literature and US History courses that ended on January 19, 2021 test during this window. AP American Literature and US History courses are exempt from Milestones in the 2020-2021 school year. We have sent a separate letter with additional information to the families of the students slated for testing.
While this round of testing does not involve every student, it does impact our schedule, in particular as it relates to in-person instruction.
How will Georgia Milestones Testing impact the school schedule? • Middle school in-person students will follow the current schedule and report to school every day (excluding Wednesdays) • Due to staffing and space constraints related to our current health and safety realities, we will implement SYNCHRONOUS, VIRTUAL LEARNING DAYS for ALL students in grades 9 -12, on the following dates: o Monday, March 8; o Tuesday, March 9; o Thursday, March 11; o Friday, March 12; o Tuesday, March 16 • ONLY students who take the Milestones EOC on a particular day will report to school on that day • ALL other students (virtual and in-person) will work at home with Virtual, Synchronous Instruction on our current 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM Bell Schedule
