Juventus will look to regroup from a late setback on matchday four as Valencia come to Turin still in contention for a place in the round of 16. • Despite 's early red card, two Miralem Pjanić penalties gave Juve a 2-0 victory at Mestalla on matchday one. The Italian side are now on nine points, two ahead of Manchester United – victors at the Juventus Stadium last time out – with Valencia on five and debutants Young Boys on one. • Juventus will be through with a draw or if Manchester United do not win at home to Young Boys. Valencia will be out of contention for a top-two finish if they do not win and United do. Form guide Juventus • The Bianconeri kept clean sheets in winning their first three Group H games, following the success at Valencia with a 3-0 home defeat of Young Boys and a 1-0 win at Manchester United. The English club scored two late goals in Italy to win 2-1, however, as Juve missed the chance to seal their place in the round of 16 with two games to spare despite Ronaldo's first UEFA Champions League for the club. • Juventus claimed their seventh successive title in 2017/18, and are in the UEFA Champions League group stage for the 19th time overall. They last failed to reach the round of 16 in 2013/14. • In last season's UEFA Champions League, Juve finished second to Barcelona in their section before ousting Tottenham in the round of 16 (2-2 home, 2-1 away). Elimination beckoned when they went down 3-0 at home to Real Madrid in the quarter-final first leg – a repeat of the 2017 final, won 4-1 by the Spanish side – only for Juve to score three times in the return. Ronaldo, however, had the last word against his current club, converting a penalty deep into added time to end Juve's campaign. • That defeat by Madrid ended Juve's 27-game unbeaten home run in UEFA competition (W16 D11), dating back to a 2-0 reverse against Bayern München in April 2013. The loss to United on matchday four was only their third European defeat in 35 matches at the Juventus Stadium (W20 D12) – but the second in the last three. • Juve picked up seven points at home in last season's group stage, beating Olympiacos 2-0 and Sporting CP 2-1 and drawing with Barcelona (0-0). The win against Young Boys on matchday two ended a three-match run without a European win in Turin (D2 L1). • The defeat by Madrid ended Juve's nine-match unbeaten run (W5 D4) at home to Spanish clubs, stretching back to March 2004. • Winners in 1985 and 1996, Juventus have played in nine European Cup finals – losing a record seven, including all of their last five. Valencia • Valencia responded to losing to Juve by holding out for a goalless draw at Manchester United in their second match. They drew their next away game too, 1-1 at Young Boys, before beating the Swiss side 3-1 in the home match. • The United draw ended Los Blanquinegros' four-game losing streak in the UEFA Champions League. They were without a goal in five matches before scoring in both fixtures against Young Boys. • Valencia have won three of their last nine UEFA Champions League away matches, qualifying included (D3 L3), but none of the last four (D2 L2). • Fourth in the Spanish Liga in 2017/18, this is Valencia's 11th UEFA Champions League group stage campaign. Finalists in both 1999/2000 and 2000/01, they have not reached the last 16 since 2012/13. • Valencia did not take part in UEFA club competition in either of the last two seasons. In their most recent campaign, 2015/16, they finished third in their UEFA Champions League section to move into the UEFA Europa League, where they beat Rapid Wien 10-0 on aggregate in the round of 32 before losing on away goals to fellow Spanish side Athletic Club in the round of 16 (0-1 away, 2-1 home). • Before matchday one, Valencia had not played Italian opposition since the 2009/10 UEFA Europa League group stage, beating Genoa 3-2 at home and 2-1 away. David Villa scored a late winner in each instance. • That win in Genoa was just Valencia's second in their 11 trips to Italy (D3 L6). Links and trivia • Ronaldo played for Madrid between 2009 and joining Juventus this summer, scoring 311 goals in 292 matches; that included 15 goals in 18 appearances against Valencia. • Valencia goalkeeper Neto made 11 Serie A appearances for Juventus between 2015 and 2017, having featured 72

12 Juventus - Valencia CF Tuesday 27 November 2018 - 21.00CET (21.00 local time) Match press kit Juventus Stadium, Turin Head coach Massimiliano Allegri Date of birth: 11 August 1967 Nationality: Italian Playing career: Cuoiopelli, Livorno (twice), Pisa, Pavia, Pescara (twice), Cagliari, Perugia, Padova, Napoli, Pistoiese, Aglianese Coaching career: Aglianese, SPAL, Grosseto, Sassuolo, Cagliari, AC Milan, Juventus • A creative attacking , Allegri started out in his native Tuscany with Cuoiopelli and then Livorno, his hometown club. First appeared in Serie A for Pisa against Milan in 1988/89 but played only twice that season before heading back to Livorno. • Returned to Serie A after helping Pescara win promotion in 1992. The following term he scored 12 goals under Giovanni Galeone, the coach Allegri still considers his mentor. After leaving Pescara in 1993, had spells at Cagliari, Perugia, Padova and Napoli before hanging up his boots back in Tuscany with fourth division Aglianese in 2003. • Moved straight into coaching at Aglianese, prior to taking charge at SPAL and Grosseto. In November 2008 he won the Panchina d'Oro (golden bench) as the third division's best coach having led Sassuolo to promotion. • Had earlier been appointed by Cagliari whom he led to ninth place in 2009, winning the Panchina d'Oro again, this time as Serie A's best coach. A bad run of results the following season prompted Allegri's dismissal on 13 April 2010 – although he had already done enough to earn a two-year contract at Milan. • Allegri's first season at San Siro ended with his new club winning the Scudetto for the first time since 2004. Dismissed in January 2014 with Milan 11th in Serie A, that summer he was appointed to succeed Antonio Conte at Juventus. Allegri won the Scudetto and the with Juventus in his first season, also taking his side to the final of the UEFA Champions League, and added further domestic doubles in 2015/16, 2016/17 – when they again reached the UEFA Champions League final – and 2017/18. Marcelino Date of birth: 14 August 1965 Nationality: Spanish Playing career: Sporting Gijón, Real Racing Club, Levante, Elche Coaching career: Lealtad, Sporting Gijón B, Sporting Gijón, Recreativo Huelva, Real Racing Club (twice), Real Zaragoza, Sevilla, Villarreal, Valencia • A clever midfielder, Marcelino came through the ranks at home-town club Sporting, progressing through the youth set-up to the first team. He represented Spain from Under-18 to U21 level and was part of the squad that reached the final of the 1985 FIFA World Youth Championship. Aged 24 he joined Racing in the Spanish Segunda before two years apiece at Levante and Elche, where injuries took their toll. • In 1994, aged just 28, he hung up his boots due to persistent fitness issues, moving into coaching three years later with part-timers Lealtad. He rejoined Sporting as B team coach before enjoying the first of two spells in charge of the senior team between 2003 and 2005. • Joined fellow second division outfit Recreativo in 2005 and led them to promotion in his first season. Guided the Andalusian side to eighth place in his first top-flight campaign as a coach before returning to Racing for 2007/08, a sixth-placed Liga finish earning the club a UEFA Cup place. • Left before leading the Santander outfit in Europe, dropping back down to the Segunda for 2008/09 to take charge of Zaragoza. A second-placed finish secured promotion but Marcelino left in late 2009 due to a run of poor results. • After brief spells at Racing again and Sevilla, Marcelino flourished after taking over at Villarreal in January 2013, winning promotion to the Liga and overseeing sixth-placed finishes in both 2013/14 and 2014/15. Led Villarreal to fourth place and the UEFA Europa League semi-finals in 2015/16 before leaving that summer; appointed by Valencia in May 2017, his first season ending with another fourth-placed Liga finish and a spot in the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League group stage.
