(NERC) is a regional non-profit organization that leverages the strengths and resources of its member states to advance an environmentally sustainable economy in the Northeast by promoting source reduction, reuse, recycling, composting, and the purchasing of environmentally preferable products and services. NERC accomplishes this task by working with state agencies, trade associations, and other interested parties. NERC’s members are state recycling and economic development agencies, as well as solid waste authorities. Advisory members include utilities, trade associations, private businesses, state and regional recycling organizations, consultants, and other interested parties. NERC is the only forum in the Northeast for cooperative research, collaborative action, and networking on regulatory, market and business development issues that link recycling and economic development.
