20 2016 GAME-BY-GAME REVIEW

OKLAHOMA STATE 45 PITT 38 Sept. 17, 2016 • Boone Pickens Stadium • 53,514 Pitt could not contain a lethal Oklahoma State passing attack in a 45- 38 loss in Stillwater...Cowboys quarterback Mason Rudolph was 26 of 46 for 540 yards and two touchdowns, while wide receiver James Washington hauled in nine receptions for an incredible 296 yards and two TDs....despite those proliic numbers, Pitt was deadlocked with OSU, 38-38, entering the fourth quarter...but at the 12:55 mark of the inal period, play was suspended for nearly two hours due to lightning...when action resumed, it was eventually Rudolph who would make the decisive play—an 86-yard pass to Jhajuan Seales— that put Oklahoma State at the Pitt 1...on the next play, Rennie Childs rushed in for the game-winning score, his fourth TD of the game, with 1:28 left...Pitt had one last chance, advancing to the OSU 45-yard line, but Nathan Peterman was intercepted by Ramon Richards with 15 seconds left to seal the result...James Conner rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown in the loss for Pitt (2-1)...it was the inaugural meet- ing between the Panthers and Cowboys (2-1).
