CAMPBELL HISTORY • This is the 35th meeting as Campbell leads the all-time series 20-14 and has won two of the last three meetings • Winthrop won the last meeting on Feb. 27, 2016 in the regular season fi nale, 87-71 but is just 1-3 vs. the Camels in Gore Arena • In 34 meetings, Winthrop has scored 2,300 points (67.6 ppg) while Campbell has totaled 2,309 points (67.9 ppg) • Campbell has led at the half in six of the last eight meetings BIG SOUTH NOTES • Defeated PC for third straight league win and haveHave won 17 of last 19 home games vs. BSC opponents • Overall the Eagles have won 15 of their last 18 games against league opponents • At 4-1 in the league the Eagles are tied for fi rst with UNC Asheville and Liberty • Winthrop is 4-1 for the 5th time in program history and fi rst time under Kelsey • In the last four seasons the team started 4-1 it fi nished with at least 10 wins and a combined record of 47-11 • Has won three straight road contest against league opponents dating back to last season and two straight this year • Winthrop has won its fi rst three league road games twice (2005-06 and 2006-07) • Eagles lead the league in scoring at 78.8 ppg and are also leading in fi eld goal percentage defense as well scoring margin, blocked shots, defensive rebounds and three-point fi eld goals per game • Pat Kelsey is only second behind Gregg Marshall in the history of the program for average number of wins in Big South play (10.3) • Last season Kelsey tied Marshall for the most league wins in the fi rst four seasons as head coach of Winthrop • In the last 19 wins against league foes, 13 of them have been by double-fi gures (68%) • Win at Charleston Southern gave Eagles fourth straight league-opening win (fi rst time that’s happened in program history) TEAM NEWS • Eagles are 12-4 for just the second time in program history (2005-06) and it’s the best start under Pat Kelsey • The best start in school history with four losses is 29-4 by the 2006-07 team which won 20 straight after starting 9-4 • Off to a 3-0 start in the month of January for the fi rst time since the 2000-01 team and the best start to Jan.
