The College Council will be a two year experiment in tri-parite decision - making, with students having a full one third voice in detennining most important college policies. This can be a significant step in helping St. Peter's students to regulate their own education as mature individuals. However, it can also turn into an empty, meaningless gesture unless quite a few students wake up, take notice, and start to get an interest in what is happening around them. Student voice should carry some impact in determining academic and extra-curricular policy. We are the majority here; we have as much, if not more, at stake in this college as the faculty and the administration. Without students, no college can exist. And yet for all the voice we have had in the past, we might as well not even have existed. Now the opportunity is being offered for the student body to have a part in legislative decisions, through student representatives. It is an opportunity which must be taken and used to the utmost of its potential. We. at the Pauw Wow, urge you to vote in the upcoming College Council elections, but more importantly, we urge you not to let it end there.
